I met the gentleman by the name of John about a year back when he was finishing the break in and joined him for a few brews @ Hooligans pub in S.Miami. from what I can remember as Beachbuell has stated it put out 125 at the rear wheels hp and tq. it has a 6spd Baker and is a 100ci S&S. he has had it tuned at Cycle Lab in Ft. Lauderdale where he also lives. sorry not trying to be repetitive just confirming. maybe Tepiddeath can chime in with more info since she also works at Cycle Lab as a self described parts bitch.
Torq is correct. Hey Italian, he was at the bike night this week. I just happen to stumble across the bike as it was lost in a sea of rice rocket imports. I asked about three "kids" who was riding the Buell and they didn't know. He saw myself and Mule checking his bike and walked up on us. His name is John and he is a super cool guy. We all chatted for about twenty minutes. He's got my number, I told him to call and we could set up a (Buell's only) ride one day.
Parts Bitch here, and John was actually in my shop earlier this week. I want to say that I remember him saying that the motor is a 110" S&S motor with the Baker 6 speed. I have not personally seen the bike, but I know that John is way cool, and I would love to go on a ride with him and every one else, even if I have to leave Rob at home because he rides a harley!
Aaron, thant engine is for tube frame Buells, I don't think it fits on a XB frame. and even though it would, that engine is meant to be showed up, so it'd be a waste to be hidden underneath the XB frame! my S1 would love this engine, even because she has suspensions and brakes to support that monster torque engine!!!!!
What??? All that noise and our hero performs no power wheelies!
I am with Phelan; my home brewed S&S cased 79" sidewinder (with modified 883 heads), not only trips my trigger, but totally wastes rubber and pulls power wheelies at will.
Bigger is not always better…unless you are WFO every time you tickle the triggger!!!!
For $10k, I could build a much more monster motor than that 100". I'd build a 90" w/ S&S cases, Custom ground cams, Axtell cyls, custom 13:1 Ross pistons, p&p'd Feuling 4 valve heads, custom-notched flywheels and crank position sensor fitted in cases, and heavily tuned/modified Delphi EFI with twin throttlebodies. A lot of work, yes, but I did all the research last year. Imagine around 140 RWHP and a wicked torque line.
I only worked out the details and parts list of the Delphi conversion. I never worked out an exact list of the cost of this particular build, but putting it together myself, it wouldn't cost $10K (except maybe after tuning). The hardest part would be finding the heads. Feuling hasn't made those heads in years. However, a friend of mine is working on jigs to modify the Big twin versions to fit XL engines. The big twin variants have sold for as little as $200 on eBay. A lot of the cost of the build would be machine work, like fitting the temp sensors in the heads, cutting the teeth on the crank, fitting the CKP, etc. Use the EFI components from an '07-up Sportster as the base, then use an SE race tuner to tune it in. Of course you'd need bigger injectors as well. I dunno how hard it would be to incorporate twin throttle bodies into the electronics though. The Fueling intake normally holds a carb of choice on each side, which could be adapted to hold the TBs. Of course while we're throwing money at it, we can add a Zippers oil pump, Barnett Scorpion clutch, Baker 6-speed with back-cut gears, etc, which raises the price a bit... Oh, and not only is the 90" the same height as a stock motor, the Feuling heads are a 1/4" shorter, so no worries on shoehorn fitting.
If I had time to build it, I could've built it for pennies considering what I've seen stuff sell for on eBay. I've seen Feuling heads with billet Buell mount and fly-cut piston for reference sell for $1200, late X. S&S cases sell for $800, '07 XL ECM, intake/tb, and wire harness for $300, Baker 6 speed for $1000, etc. With time and funds, I could make it happen. It'd make a he'll of an S2 .
