Your help is greatly appreciated. I just upgraded to full Buell race exhaust and I have a couple of issues.

First, I have a minor leak where the collector joins the muffler. I've tightened the clamp till it cant go no more and still there is a minor leak where the arrow points. Can something be done about this, or do I just accept it?

Second, my muffler is butt againt the chain tensioner bolt. Is this an issue, or do I not worry about it.

Kahuna you need to put some high temp RTV silacone on the pipe so it can seal the muffler to the collector.As for the chain tensioner bolt you might want use a small ballpean hammer and make the factory dent alittle deeper so you won't have any friction there.

That's the transmission drain bolt , Sensor safe RTV will seal the connection between the header and muffler . As mentioned already a few well placed blows with a swing press will work.

I'm also having installation difficulties on my '02 M2. Muffler hits the shock! Have the updated front muffler support and "U" of Header support biases the system toward shock. Attempted to tweak Header support (destroyed it) and now waiting for a new "obsolete" part at $42. HELP!!!

Try loosening all exhaust system components up and seeing where the muffler sits in relation to the drain bolt/shock and tighten up once in place. If things don't sit right, I'd not force anything. I'd think that's only looking at exhaust header stud failure.

I think things will fit but if not...maybe the header is not made with quite the right bend. It may need some adjustment...on the bench and not on the bike. If you're not up to that, you can take the position that you have a faulty header and look for an exchange from the dealership.

That T-bolt clamp is not sufficient to clamp and seal the header-collector to muffler. You really need the full blown 1" wide super heavy duty stock/OEM collector/muffler pipe clamp. A little high temp RTV won't hurt either, but with all the vibration of the Buell engine, you definitely want to clamp that header TIGHTLY to the muffler.

If the muffler won't easily fall into line, take a rubber mallet and adjust the muffler's slotted inlet flanges accordingly.
