No sarcasm Rocco. Get/delegate planning. You are "just" the decider. So"plan A" then? |

I think a trackday would be cool for those who want to do it - under normal circumstances I would participate, but like many others, I plan on riding something like 1,000 miles one way to get there (on a tuber no less) and have no interest in putting that same bike on a track. I'm really into the "ride and hang out" mentality. Barn visit and Thunderbolts show would be considered hanging out. I'd also probably camp out. I have no issue riding to other places for things - Like Dana's bar for a show. I also think we should keep this as low cost as possible - I don't see/hear much in terms of expensive activities (aside from the trackday), but times are tough for a lot of people. Again, like so many others, this should be about meeting new friends, seeing old ones and enjoying the Buell community. We don't need expensive events to do that. I'm going to try like hell to make this and being my first one I hope to meet a lot of new folks. EDIT - I'll also volunteer to help out in whatever capacity is needed, but keep in mind I'm 1,000 miles away and have never even been to the state Wisconsin, let alone a Homecoming. Here is a suggestion??? Why not make it like the event that the enthusiasts put together for the 20th Anniversary. That was one hell of a great time, just a bunch of people getting together to celebrate a milestone of the company. Just make sure the RVs are off the roads, hey Dana??? Now I got to get a passport. |

I think we should do that at Hardley's headquarters on Juneau Ave. Hardley-Davidson claims to be number 1. Maybe we could tell them they are.... Just make sure the RVs are off the roads, hey Dana??? I don't think I'll ever really forget it Newfie. We had a blast didn't we??? I thought the 20th was as grass roots as it could be. It turned out to be the best one of all Buell Homecoming I've been to. |

Yes it was, Planned but not planned just a bunch of guys with a crazy idea and it all came together. There was no track day, not really any organized rides and a tour of the old barn and the quonset hut with Henry Duga as the tour guide. If you wanted to go ride then a bunch of guys got together and went for a ride. Personally after riding for 4 or 5 days straight to get there on the S1 I didn't want to see a bike for a couple days. I just wanted to hang out and have a cold one with some great people. To me thats what its all about. |

I think some centrally-located spot would be nice for the "hangout" - a place where if you got nothing else going on, you can head there. A campground, a dealership, something. Doesn't even have to be in the same place every day. |

Summerfest is downtown Milwaukee at the lake front. It runs June 24-July 4. Excellent place for music, fun and beverages. I'm not sure what the dates of this HC are gonna be, but Summerfest is a really cool place to hang. http://www.summerfest.com/flash/# |

Summerfest WOULD be a cool event for the out-of-towners. And the dates would work as well with the June30th track day.
When would be the best time for Homecoming 2010 | | Early June | 7 | 9.2% | Mid June | 19 | 25.0% | Late June | 22 | 28.9% | Early July | 8 | 10.5% | Mid July | 13 | 17.1% | Late July | 6 | 7.9% | Early August | 1 | 1.3% | Mid August | 0 | 0.0% | Late August | 0 | 0.0% | What events would you be interested in? | | Kettle Moraine "adventure ride" | 43 | 56.6% | Blackhawk Farms trackday | 19 | 25.0% | Seeing Erik Buell and the Thunderbolts | 54 | 71.1% | Great Lakes Drag Racing | 7 | 9.2% | Mississippi River Run | 27 | 35.5% | Tour of the original barn where the 1st bikes were built | 64 | 84.2% | Late June is currently the winning time frame as well. If you haven't taken the survey yet, please do. http://www.brewcitythunderbikes.com/e107_plugins/s urvey/survey.php?1 |

Can't argue with the percentages, but do you people realize that doing anything on June 30th puts us in the weekend of July 4th? Just thought I'd point that out. |

I kinda agree with Rocco on this. It puts a monkey wrench in some peoples plans being a holiday weekend. Some people can't get away. |

Summerfest? You gotta be kidding. Been there once - that's enough. I don't plan on getting drunk enough to tolerate it. Maybe if a bunch of the folks wanted to do it, that'd be Okey dokey - as long as it wasn't a ride-to/ride-from event. (Message edited by slaughter on November 02, 2009) |

I have to agree with Slaughter. I'm under the impression that most want to do this as inexpensively as possible. Although Summerfest would be a good meeting place, but it costs money to get in. |

So far I like the getting together somewhere and socializing. People can go out and ride and come back. Watch the Thunderbolts play after touring the barn. Thanks for the survey work Steve. |

Summerfest starts June 24, you could run HC that would end on the 27th, but that could mean losing a track day and while Summerfest is cool, I wouldn't miss a track day. (Message edited by buellinachinashop on November 02, 2009) |

Mid-June isn't far behind, so let's back it up a week? Summerfest might be cool. but I'm not riding 1,000 miles one way to listen to some bands. I'm doing to meet up with other Buellers and do motorcycle things. I'd suggest not trying to plan this thing around some other event. |

exactly. we don't need outside distractions in my opinion. although I still think a track day should be in the mix. being it's motorcycle related and all. |

Could we do something like last year and use the host hotel as a meeting place? I think most of us would be saying there again. |
