I'm hoping it's the battery. Brought the bike home last Tuesday. Bike sat for a few days. Went out to set up the suspension, clock and all that. Bike showed the battery icon on the cluster. Hit the starter and nothing but clicks. Pulled the battery out. Set it up on a charger. 12volt, 2amps. Charged it all day Sunday. It was 12.08v Sunday evening. Left it off the charger. This afternoon, it was down to 11.85v. Stuck it in the bike. Still showed the battery icon after initial cluster mumbo-jumbo. Bike started. At higher idle when I checked with the meter it was at 13.85v. But as the idle slowed, the volt's drops to just over 12. As I rev'd the bike, the volts would raise back up. After letting the bike run for a while, and then trying to start it again, it turns over erratically but won't start. Battery is down to 11.57v I sure hope it's a shit battery and not a charging issue. I believe it to be the battery though. My race bike battery has been sitting on the bench in my garage since September and still shows 11.99v What do you guys think? I wonder if I bring just the battery in if they'll give me a new one, or tell me I need to get the whole bike in? |

Sounds like a bum battery to me, too. If the bike sat in a showroom for a while without being charged, the battery could be weak...or just flat out bad. My guess is they'd want to see the battery in the bike so that they 'know' it was from that bike. Maybe try the battery out of your race bike for now? |

Only problem is the race bike is a XB. Different batteries. I see the point of it in the bike, but how do I get the bike there with a battery that won't start it!!?? |

In a good world the battery will read 14v. |

I suppose I could call them and see if they'd be cool about it. Or charge the battery again, start it, hope it doesn't die and bring it to the dealer. Of course by then it will charge and they'll tell me I'm nuts. |

I didn't realize the 1125's battery was different than the XB. Scratch that. I'd call the dealer...warranty. If they have to pick it up because it won't start - not your problem. |

I put my bike on my battery tender jr. and it took more than 5 hours for the green light to come on. My xb's battery would show charged after only 30 minutes or so. I'm sure my bike was sitting for a long time at the dealer. |

I had the dealership replace mine, it was dead when I first looked at the bike. They wanted to recharge it I told them I wanted a new one!!! |

umm... slight hijack - which battery tender is best for the 25R? Mine came with the plug for a tender... just not sure which! thx!! |
