Of the 35 motorcycles I've owned the Buell Ulysses, '06, ranks in the house of my top 3 favorites. '78 Maico 250GP, '86 KTM 350MXC. As you can see two of those are race bikes. Guess that makes the Uly my NO.1 street bike. Yes we have a winner... |

I feel the same way. Was gonna keep my 06 Uly and buy another new or low mileage one in 4 or 5 years. Now I'm looking around the house to see if there's anything I can sell to bump up the schedule. I've got a 1970 DT250, a 2004 Passat and 2 worthless cats. |

My '08 Uly is just more fun and more capable than any other bike I have ridden. I don't know how Buell did it, but the Uly is more comfortable than my FLHTCUI (which I feel needs to go after last week) and handles well enough to embarrass the hell out of many dedicated sport bikes. I have been looking at the BMW GS for years, and now I may end up putting one next to my Uly in the garage, but I doubt that any bike can match the Uly for sheer grin factor. I guess we'll have to wait and see what Erik has up his sleeve. |

Have to agree the Uly is my all time favorite. I had never even heard of Buell when someone in the office showed me a picture of the 06 Uly. Had it the following week. Great bike from a great company. |

Same here...over many years starting with a Tote Goat then a Harley Hummer in early 60's (lots more in between) and now my 09X and DR650. If I had a separate set of complete wheels and knobbies for the Buell...might even let the DR go...but...would probably pick up a 4 stroke woods bike (liked my CRF250X but hated the maintenance). Right now...all good. I consider myself a serial motorcycle philanderer...so I speak with authority |

I have owned quite a few bikes since 1974. A HD FXE was my first and my last purchase was an 08 Crossbones. BUT... my best ride has been the 08 ULY. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING compares to the ULY. I still want to buy a 10XT. I'll work on it myself. ERIK... it is time to formulate a plan. |

Ka5ysy .. what planet have you been on ?? Umm ya .. we are all well aware of that. Teeps posted this AFTER the closing, It's a tribute thread, though just as valid before or after as the Uly is by far the best and most fun to ride bike I've ever owned. |

Remember the scene in Dumb and Dumber when our hero is walking out of the bar and sees a framed newspaper clipping of Armstrong's first step on the moon and says: "Hey...Wow! Look everyone! We have landed on the moon! FAR OUT! Wow!" Waves at everyone in the bar and walks out. Sorry Ka5sy. Done it myself! I might like my Uly more with a gear reduction. Thinking about it. We'll see. |

My 1996 S-1 and my 2007 Uly have to be the most fun motorcycles I've owned and probably the best handling. I'm thinking about a GS as a daily driver to save the Uly. I wish there was another option. Cheers, Will |

Will547: I am thinking along the same lines. I was thinking about getting a Wee Strom in addition to keeping my 06 Uly (Manf. # around 500). Wife had a F650GS (the old one lunger), it was a bitch to work on. |
