I have Allstate on my Harley and they gave me a very good rate of about $200/year. But when I bought my XT they charged me about $800/yr for the same coverage. So, I am going to shop for some less expensive coverage. Any recommendations for a company with good service and good rates on Buells? |

I went through Harley (website) and got a quote of $139.00, annual rate, for the most basic of coverage from Safeco (IIRC) I know nothing about Safeco - Progressive is on the same Harley program, as well. EDIT: It's important that they classify the bike properly as a dual sport/dual 'porpois' machine - not a sport bike - in my case, at least - YMMV. . $1,632/year with progressive. They've given me the best rates I could find on my tubers and a 50cc Zuma, but I think I'll look around for better rates on the XT. Dunno why it's so high for the newer bike - that is for basically the best coverage offered though, $250 deductible, etc. My driving record is (relatively) clean but I'm 22 and single, so... |

I think they classified my 08 XT as a touring bike. 152 or 156 a year. Stored in a locked garage helps. |

West Bend Mutual has good rates if they are available near you. Before them I had Progressive and liked Progressive but West Bend was less $$ and offers money back if you don't have a claim. |

I was with Dairyland last year, but they jacked up the rates by over $100 a year. So I had my insurance lady check around and she came up with Safeco. Slightly under $300 for the year. |

I've had good luck with the Harley ins. deal. You call them up and I think they shop rates from several companies. I had Dairyland thru them. When I renewed the gal on the phone asked if I wanted her to see if she could save me some money. She switched me to Safeco. Saved about $100 per yr on 2 bikes. Murf2 |
