Turned 43,000 miles yesterday on the Uly... Have you caught up to or passed me yet? I know you and I had about the same on the clock at the WVBR What are you up to now? |

42,555 now, should be sixty more by the end of the day if I don't go anywhere other than work stuff. When I got back from WWVA BR III, I wasn't so interested in riding, as fixing. Now go ahead, try to stop me! I will catch up soon.....even if I have to ride up to C-Bus and whoop your ass with it! Got heated gloves now, BAW goes back on next week or so. Rode out this morning at 48F. Shit.....where did summer go? |

You are on my heals! Looks like I may need to ride it even after the snow flies! I only put on about 32 miles a day going back and forth to work.... gonna need to start taking the long way home. I have a short some place that keeps reseting the clock and trip meter I gotta fix that this winter. Its starting to bug to $hit out of me! |

The only reason my ass would be cold is from the installation of that comfort kit! Not to worry, I know where to get the burrito platters! Now at 42,650, seems like my sixty mile run went a little over. Whoops! |

Wolf, that short will be the wire splice in the steering head bundle. Cut off the heat shrink on the red wires, one will be broken, might as well replace the brown wire splice also while in there, it does the right turn signals. I ran single jumper splices up behind the fly screen and did the triple splices there. |

Wolfridge, It's not a short. Have you noticed waking up at the same time every day to the same song on the radio. It's Groundhog day and you're just like Bill Murray. |

Red wire bad.... how long did that take to fix? Why is there splice to begin with?? |

How fast can you unwrap the wire bundle, splice in a 10" jumper, cut and reconnect the three red power leads, and rewrap the bundle? I would add about 40% more time to do the same with the brown right turn signal wires. A big bonus to this mod is getting rid of two multi wire splices in a dynamic area and making the wire bundle smaller by four wires, thus making it more able to flex and slide as necessary. I would guess an hour and ten minutes including R&I fly screen and soldering/heat shrink wrapping the wires. |

The CR isn't plagued by vague intermittent electrical issues |

Well the CR is awesome, under the flyscreen is the same power outlet as the Ulysses cigarette lighter thing, so I literally took mine off my Uly Corpse and plugged it right in. All my stuff was already wired into it, so if something happens I can just unplug everything in one shot. Oh, and at this point I am certain at 44k miles it will have been less problematic than my XB's. |

Wolfie, mine did that too.....for months. I even opened up the harness and checked the wires, couldn't see a damn thing wrong. Then one of the guys posted a thread with pictures of that busted bich. I reopened it, cut the heat shrink off, and sure enough the obvious. Mine looked like this after cutting the heat shrink off, that wire should have been connected to the splicer. The heat shrink holds it in place after it is broken off. I did the same wiggle test, handle bar side to side, I just gave up and cut it open to be surprised.
