If they have a planned 2 month shutdown, does that mean that 2010 ULY's are going to be rare as hen's teeth on the show room floor? Has anybody actually seen one at a dealer? |

More likely there is a projected three month supply already crated. |

Yes, there is no more Buell. We can all go home now. |

There were a couple at Liberty when I had my BRCC and wheel done. There are plenty right now . . . it's not that Buell isn't building them it's that folks aren't buying. Oddly enough . . . Buell's number have held up as well as most motorcycle company's but the entire discretionary spending world is in the tank. My wife and I were both going to get cars in June . . . we're sitting tight. I thought of this yesterday as I was taking these photos.

Hope not. Buell is the only brand I've ever felt really strongly about. I always thought Ford guys and Chevy guys where nuts and I don't want to join the Chevy guys on the second trip of their journey. |

12 months in a year, minus 2 months of no production = 10 months of normal production. Only thing scarce will be the Buell stickers on the Blast. |

Took a 1125CR out on a demo the other weekend, wow! what a bike. Trying to decide what body part to sell...(grin). On another note, I got a new tire mounted at a Suzuki dealer today, I was the only one in the store. It's slow in Alberta with oil prices in the tank. (We still pay a buck per liter at the pump.) |

Has Buell R&D shut the doors also? It would seem like a great time to put the finishing touches on the 1125UST (ULY Sport Tour). Maybe also finish up that auto primary chain tensioner and 6 speed transmission that will both retrofit back to 06 ULY. |

Court said earlier the shutdown does NOT affect Buell R&D, only production line people. While they aren't building anything right now, they are hard at work on the next thing they're gonna build. |

While they aren't building anything right now, they are hard at work on the next thing they're gonna build. I thought the article said that they were stopping production in October. |

When does Erik's employment contract end with H-D Corp? Does he actually have a contract or just open ended employment? |

Court, That chevy dealer is right down the street from my office. One day the lot was full of cars and the next morning it was empty. Mike Long Island, NY 09 XB12X Red/Black 06 VRSCR Blue/Silver |

My wife stopped to use the bathroom at Crossroads HD /buell in Center Valley this week. Rather than just run to the bathroom, she decided to look like she was interested in buying some clothes. She asked the girl behind the counter if they carried any Buell. The girl showed her the one jacket and two tshirts they carried. My wife was then told that they aren't carrying Buell gear because HD is going to stop making Buells next year. Crossroads has never supported Buell (I bought my S3 from them and it was the worst experience ever) and I'm not going to take the word of the tshirt girl but I'm sure their feelings mirror the majority of dealers out there. |

"I'm sure their feelings mirror the majority of dealers out there." That's a silly statement. None of the Buell dealers around here share their ignorant view. |

""I didn't know HD was making Buells."" If HD wasn't making Buells, Erik wouldn't have an employment contract or going to all those board meetings. . |

"I'm sure their feelings mirror the majority of dealers out there." Wow. I guess I can take the easy way now, and just stop caring... And we do have a '10 XT on the floor. I have yet to ride it though, but I do want to play with the new EFI and the dual O2 sensor setup. Curious how the bike behaves now...but with three of my own, they're 'reluctant' to let me just 'take one and see', LOL. |

""HD does not make Buells. Buell makes Buells."" That's kinda like sayin'...’HD doesn't make Harley's, the employee’s do’. Whether semantics or circular logic... however you might need to rationalize it out for yourself, works for me. Erik is an 'employee' of HD - hence the employment contract. Sure Erik has a great deal of input @ HD with regard to the Buell product, but at the end of the day, it's HD callin' the shots. That's gotta be frustrating for him. . |

If I had $1,000,000 to invest at this moment . . . I'd buy Buell stock. My dealer has over 200 t-shirts in stock, plenty of Buells, drive-in service, is enthusiastic and working on innovative and creative ways to promote and sell Buells. If I were a betting guy . . . I'd say "ya'll ain't seen nothing". A wise man once said "Look for Buell at WSBK in 5 years." I am. |

Court, Your dealer has more Buell t-shirts then are available in all of Canada LOL. Seriously I've never found a Buell shirt at a Canadian dealer.....admittedly I have not been to them all. The excuse I hear from most is the Deely Imports (the master dealer for Canada) restricts what is available. Could be why my comfort kit was back ordered 8 weeks |

Good news . . . . you can order either a t-shirt or a comfort kit from Liberty and have it by the middle of next week. Life is good in New York City . . . especially today. |

""You have heard the rumor floating around about his contract right?"" I imagine he has a non-compete clause in there somewhere, within his agreement, as well. So if he does leave - then what? Non-competes typically run 3-5 years ... but who can say, right? One tactic I've personally seen work is where contracted person makes the parent company (or those overseeing his division) miserable to the point that they want him gone so bad that they buy out his contract and release him from the non-compete, just to be rid of him and all of the aggravation. It seemed to have worked out pretty well, from what I saw. . |

There are about 5 HD dealers within an hours riding distance from my house. I go to the one that is furthest from my house because the other 4 don't care about Buell. I may live in a non ordinary place but 80% sounds like most to me. |
