Well I did it, 2400 miles in 3 1/2 days. I left WI and made it to York, NE the first day. The next day was to Denver area to ride in the mountains for a few hours. On day three I rode from Denver through MT into Rapid City , SD from there to Albert Lea, MN. Around 875 miles in one shot..... too long. At least day four was only 5 hours to home. The Uly did not miss a beat, it ran absolutely perfect. I used about a half pint of oil, but I was running 80-85 mph for at least 10 hours a day. I also stopped at High Country HD to have my TPS reset done, and WOW what a dealership. They care about Buells, and know what they are doing. Where I live I never see another Buell, so it was strange to me to have someone else getting there's serviced at the same time as me, it was nice to talk to a fellow owner. I can't say I would do a trip like that again, at least not on an X. But touring isn't the bikes main purpose, what it's made for it does well. |

Hey Slinky. I think I met you there. I was there with my 09 picking up a new head light bulb. Glad you had a good trip. We do have a great dealer here, don't we. I know they will be happy to see your post. Cheers. A- |

High Country is a great Buell dealer. Bought my Uly there earlier this summer. Always like hearing of long "not miss a beat" journeys on the Uly. |

Hangetsu, yeah that was you I talked to. I took some of the routes in the mtns, you suggested. That scenery was just unreal. |
