Frank just likes using the temp gun! Put my battery and the back up on trickle charge last night. Nice to see everyone last night. Nice ride home! Anyone interested in changing fork oil? I have 2 bent forks off a xb12s that im going to practice on. The job looks easy with the right tools! (Message edited by sam_07 on August 13, 2009) |

Uly tucked away until Sunday with full tank of gas and on battery tender. Today is N's birthday so we both took off and are headed to St. Cloud on RK for lunch at Crabby Bills! |

Not to hijack the discussion but I still have my Buell Race Pipe for sale. Asking $400. In this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 464855.html?1244032499 Not looking to ship only because it'll probably cost more than $100 (at least from UPS). I'm willing to drive outside the Orlando area for this sale. 2 hours one way is how far I'll drive. So please spread the word. Only about 700 miles on the pipe which was purchased new (via eBay). Installed and removed by Seminole HD in Sanford, FL. I'll try taking pictures in the next couple of days and post them. Send PM if interested. Thanks. |

What's the pipe weigh Lance? I have one too (on my bike), but don't recall what it weighed before I put it on. I'm sure I can help you with shipping. $100 sounds very steep with UPS. I use Fed Ex here at my business and I'm sure I can get it shipped for well under $50. Let me know the weight and I'll let you know what it would cost to ship it to CA (as a worst case example). |

Great, thanks. Let me see if I can get a local sale done in the next week or two. If not, I'll circle back to you on what shipping would/could be (funny thing, I used CA as my worst case shipping cost as well). I do not know the weight either but will 'hit the scales' later today. |

Lance, A 50# box to Oxnard, CA would cost me $33.72 as a point of reference. Paul |

Awesome pictures from Deal's Gap guys. Was the entire trip incident free? How'd you like the Two Wheel Inn? Aren't the owners great? |

The trip was great! The only mechanical thing was my exhaust wrap came undone in one small area. (easy fix) The Two Wheel Inn was perfect. Those I would have liked a slightly larger bed. Sat out front of the room with a beer or two and relaxed after a hard days ride. This was my first trip out of Florida, so the twisties at times were very intense. I used to laugh at people with Gap t-shirts... now I understand & own 2.

The trip was great! I hear the mountains calling our names to come back. The dragon and cherohala skyway were the best of all roads. The two wheel inn is truely the bikers place to stay. I had my own garage! The weather cooperated for most of the trip and the ride through GA and the florida coast to home was a treat. If i new how to shrink down the pictures, i would post some.... |

Sam, I use this to resize photos. xat.com's JPEG Optimizer and Image Optimizer image file compression algorithms ROCK! Reduce file size by as much as 75% with little to no discernable loss of image quality when viewed via computer screen. (Highly recommended for maximizing quality and physical/pixel dimensions of pics for uploading to BadWeB within required file size limits.) Frank |

Hey Paul, I was leading Sam and John and headed to the south end of Dragon. We got pulled for 60 in a 40. Cop was a good guy and gave us a written warning. I did mention I worked for LE but we were getting a warning anyway. I was just working up #'s which may help someone in the future when deciding whether to go on a trip like this: we rode up in 1 day ~600 mi stayed 2 nights at Two Wheel Inn and rode ~400 mi locally in 1 1/2 days then rode back using non interstates in 1 1/2 days (~650 mi) so stayed 1 night on the road hotels ~$135 gas ~$100 food ~$100 misc (tips, tolls, souvenirs, etc.) $50 so figure $350 to $400 of course this doesn't include pre trip motorcycle prep or wear/tear on tires/brakes/misc. |

Frank, Did you guys share rooms or have your own? What was the per night charge at the Two Wheel Inn? I can't remember for the life of me. |

We shared rooms. Frank and I were in one, Jeff & Sam the other. With all the fees it worked out to $38 per night ($69 per night + tax, prep, title, services, etc. Single room fee was $59 per night) Here is a few more pictures... one of Sam smiling for those that thought we weren't having fun.

Frank, I thought you said they would only make your bike look uglier. (If that's possible.) I almost order them the other day but decided to hold off until my first Valencia paycheck comes in-in about 3 weeks. |
