Is the coil used on this bike a combined coil and ignitor? Is it a single coil that fires 2 plugs like a waste spark system or is it a dual coil that fires the plugs individualy? Thanks... |

The coil fires each plug separately. The ECM controls the coil. The FI bikes are different than the carb bikes. I don't think you could get a dual fire coil to work with the ECM. |

I am not trying to do that rather I just wanting a quick and cheap fix. My bike is intermitently running on 1 cyl. Plugs are fine, wires are fine, coil has one side at 1.8 ohms and 1 side at 1 ohm. That can't be right |

I wanted to ride this morning to work so here is my quick fix: A pair of coils, probably from a newish GSXR that I got on ebay with the wiring harness a couple of years ago. Runs very good now no longer missing

Wow. I guess I would have never thought to try something like that. Nice going. Does that mean you just spliced wired them both to the wires that fire the coil pack? |

That is great improvisation... I take it the ECM is happy with the rig. |
