Two ex-Buell Badwebbers ride there all the time. Dago (David) and Ortegakid (Derek). Both of them bought R6s for the track, I'm not sure if either of them kept their Buells. Both of them are great guys, definitely worth looking up if you start going to that track regularly. |

Sweet man...Wish I could get some track time someday! LOL, you know there's a button on your keyboard call Print Screen? That way you don't have to take a pic of the monitor with the camera. =) So, Print Screen, Open Photo Editor (MS Paint works to), Paste, Crop, save. BOOM! Nice pics, and I'm jealous! I still haven't gotten a knee down! I ride with my toes on the pegs and manage to scrape the outside of my boots. My rear chicken strip is non-existant and the front is about a half inch and shrinking slowly, but never touched a knee. Any tips on how to do it? Just get further off the bike? Some have told me that my 135 lbs of bodyweight is what makes it difficult to get down that far and drag a knee. Any truth to that? Once again - cool pics and that's a good looking bike you've got. |

Get footage of yourself on the track with a follow behind cam. thats what i did the first time i was on the track. after that you can really train your self to use proper body position and technique(if you are doing it wrong, i was) then i weighted the inside peg and used my opposite leg to pull the bike over. Also i had to just tell myself to have confidence in my tires. i seen this dude at texas world that could have drug his elbows. and i said to myself, "self, if he can do that you can drag a knee." |

I read this somewhere: stop "trying" to get your knee down. Instead work on proper body positioning and increasing your corner speed. Getting your knee down will then just happen. It wasn't until my second year on the track that I got mine down, and it was because I was focused more on going faster instead of just getting it down. |

+1 eboos. thats what all the instructors say. exactly what you said. Be forewarned, DRAGGING KNEE IS LIKE AN ADDICTION, ONCE YOU DO IT ITS ALL YOU WANT TO DO. |

I ride with my toes on the pegs and manage to scrape the outside of my boots. My rear chicken strip is non-existant and the front is about a half inch and shrinking slowly, but never touched a knee. If you are on the street, you should not be dragging your knee anyway. It is easy on the track, not such a good idea (or easy) on the street. I don't want to sound like a whinny nanny, but you will never be able to really ride fast on the street anyway. Your first time at a track day you will go WAY faster than you have ever gone at the street, guaranteed. At the track sliding both tires feels comfortable and you start to understand the books/videos on riding fast. The street is just to narrow for that kind of riding to be realistic....for very long before something goes terribly wrong. One of the PR guys at Kawi was playing Nicky on the Crest, backing a ZX9 in to the corners a few years ago. He ran out of room, hit the gravel, and high-sided very badly. On the track he'd have probably been fine. OK, I'm a whinny nanny. Sorry, just speaking as an older guy that's crashed too many times. |

Lovedabueller, have you been to Motorsport Ranch in Cresson? The 1.7 mile track used on most trackdays has as many turns, 11, as the 2.5 mile track at ECR and ECR has 4 straights longer than the 2 (1/4 mile) straights at MSR. ECR is a nice track, I just enjoy MSR more. http://www.motorsportranch.com/1.7-road-course.cfm |

"Your first time at a track day you will go WAY faster than you have ever gone at the street, guaranteed. " I've only ever done a few track days, quite a few years ago now, so as a track day "novice" I would very much agree. I would recommend every rider tries a track day at least once. One day I'll get my knee down... on the track. I am still really impressed seeing knee down pics the one above though , and the guy I saw knee down on Mt Glorious Rd here in Brisbane... riding a Suzuki 400 Bandit! |
