Hey there. The 2000 M2 VOES connects to the back of the carb with a vac hose only. But the 2001 M2 VOES connects to the back of the carb and with a tee runs to the carb filter backing plate. And in both service manuals the testing procedure is word for word thru 2002. So What is going on. Both run fine but I want to hook a Force Winder intake to the 2001 and I really don't want to drill and tap a hole into the beautiful polished elbow. |

I'm not sure why the factory put the T to the carb filter backing plate. The VOES works off of pressure in the intake manifold or the carb itself so the T over to the backing plate seems to be illogical since pressure in the breather box should be lower then the pressure in the carb or intake. If I were you and I didn't want to drill the elbow then I'd just cap off the T with some epoxy and go about my business. The older M2's seem to have run fine without the T. |

Having a T in the line that goes to the VOES and the backing plate doesn't sound like a good idea. The backing plate connection will allow unmetered air into the intake tract leaning out the mixture. I'd cap it. Brad |

My 2001 M2 that I put a forcewinder on. I took out the T and just ran the hose to the fitting right behind the carb. It works just fine. |
