Coming back from a ride today I fell inline with a modded V-Rod.
This is the second V-Rod this week. Man that bike has a wonderful sound.

It got me wonder what production bike makes your favorite sound? .

My current fav is a modded V-Rod, followed by any gear cam Honda VFR.

Honda Rune stock.

Didn't that have a Goldwing flat 6? I never figured it would have an interesting sound

One that comes to mind was a Honda CBX with the full boogie RC Engineering motor kit and an open 6 into 1 header..

Debaffled V Rods have a deep but not obnoxious pitch and the 2009 R1.

I always had a thing for high-performance twins - Ducati takes the cake for that. I haven't heard an 1125 with anything but a stock exhaust, so that may be on the list as well.

I have yet to hear a V-ROD I like...

Here's how to mod a V Rod stock exhaust. I did this to my stock slip-ons and its a vast improvement from stock.

1125 with the Buell race can is sweet.
Gear cam VFR.
Rune/Opened up Goldwing exhaust. I am also glad to not be the only one that has heard this and thought it sounded great. Very Ferrari sounding.
Newer Triumph 3 cylinders with the Arrow exhaust is aural heaven too. 675 or 1050.

this one!

http://home.mira.net/~iwd/av/drysdale750v8.mp3

been following this for years, sweet sound to me!

"This is the last run of the V8 with the Keihin FCR flat slide carbs - the rev limiter is set at 13,000 rpm and you can hear the motor stutter a bit as it hits the limiter when the throttle is blipped on some runs..

Although the mufflers are a straight through race design (with a round hole perforated tube construction) the V8 is suprisingly quiet. The explanation lies in the way the 2 outlets are positioned side by side- the pulses are phased so that they occur in between one another and tend to partially cancel each other out.

The rattle that can sometimes be heard just above idle is a characteristic rattle of the "floating" section of the flat slide in the FCR's. It is annoying at first but like a dry clutch it's a noise that differentiates a bike like the V8 from the sanitised majority. The fuel injection will eliminate this rattle (unfortunately) but will greatly simplify the tuning process and allow for even more power, tractability and fuel economy.

As a bonus, the throttle pull- which is unavoidably heavy with the 8 FCR's- will be feather light, bringing the bike back into line with design criteria #1-"

who cant love the sound of a piped ducati. Another favorite toy sound I like is the sound of a stock KFX 700 quad. They have a sound of a 03-04 cobra mustang with a supercharger screaming but its really the belt drive on the tranny.

Okay, I'm a little weird, but I've always gotten a kick out of the "sewing machine on steroids" sound of an idling BMW airhead...

Hmmm...
My X1 about a week after I've repacked the muffler...
Original M900 Ducati with carbon fibre Termi's...
Like many above I like gear cam VFR's, particularly VF1000R with race 4-2 exhausts...
Moto-Guzzi LeMans III with air box removed and (I think) Lafranconi's...
The Ducati MHR 900 I saw and heard a few weeks ago... I hadn't heard a pair of Conti's for years...
And I do like the sound of a nice oil-cooled GSXR being ridden flat out...
And RD250LC's... brrraaaaaaap... ring-ding-ding-ding... ; )
