Pammy, In as well. I spent a lot of years in Peoria, Komen birthplace, helping with road guard duty. Her sister is a truely special human being for having taken this thing so far in 25 years. |

Holy Cow . . . . to hell with the "next five" . . you guys are true heroes. I hate to go soft on you . . . . but it's times like this that some folks will look back and say "we discussed it" and folks like you will stand tall and say "I didn't talk, I changed the world I lived in". SEND me your NAMES and ADDRESSES with TAH-TAH's in the subject and I'm going to get something . . . . it's pot luck but could be fun . . . to each and everyone of you. It continues to amaze me . . . the things we can do TOGETHER. Thank you. Court |

Paul, my friend, you betcha, donations are still welcome. She has what she needs(money wise) to walk, but we are gonna bust the bank on this one. They will know who we are..."THE BAD(ASS)WEATHER BIKERS!" My friend called me last night. She was out meeting with a local bike group to see how she can get some support in the community there. As soon as I answered the phone, I could tell she was very emotional. She said "you have the most awesome friends", to which I replied simply, "I know". I expected no less than what you have brought. I have been overwhelmed at the generosity, I must say. But not surprised at all at the caring and heartfelt concern sent with each donation. You guys can move mountains and that is exactly what is happening. Louise is doing the hard part, I just happen to be lucky enough to have the best friends in the world! Just like Court, I too am amazed, as always. |

Pammy, My sister also walks in the 3 day in atlanta. Both Mom and my Sister were diagnosed back in October (Breast cancer awarenes month no less). Mom's cancer was quite advanced (12cm tumors in both breasts), but luckilly she is doing well now and finishing up her radiation treatments after chemo and surgery. Patti is also doing well. Her cancer was caught early on, but was aggressive. She had surgery and now has a couple of new "friends". Both of my grandmothers were stricken with breast cancer as well. We donate to my Sister's walk... but the money goes to the same place. I may try to volunteer with the Motor group this year if I can. Keep up the good fight!! Russ |

Russ, I sincerely hope all goes well with your family. I am from the Atlanta area. Tell your sister to look out for Louise Lane during the walk. What is your sisters last name? You are right. The money goes to the same place. I hope I live to see the day when these conversations are in the "remember back in the day" catagory. Unfortunately it seems to be more prevalent as the years go on. I pink for my Mom, GrandMother, Aunt and cousin. I also have Great Aunts that were stricken. But who I am really fighting for are my daughters and my precious, precious, Granddaughter. She should never even have to hear of Breast Cancer except in the history books. Fighting right along...with a little help from my friends |

Pammy, Great Job! Now that she has "enough" cash to walk, what else does she need? I've done a three day, (And an Avon walk, and want to do more!) so trust me when I say, it's not just the donations that eat a person up. If you follow the training program you walk OVER 1000 MILES in training, I wore out three pairs of shoes BEFORE the event. Is she all set for shoes? Socks? A fanny pack? Water bottles? A sleeping bag and nice mat? |

She had to get a special pair of shoes. I am sure that she will have to have at least one more pair for the event, but we are only begging for donations to the actual charity. The charity supplies the sleeping arrangements. We are upping the goal as we sort things out. The more money we raise, the quicker we get the cure. You are so thoughtful in your concern for her equiptment needs. Although she did mention that she only has one pair of some special socks(she had to walk in regular socks on Saturday). Her birthday is coming up on July 30th and I will get her something for the walk as well as what I would typically get her. Even though she is MUCH older than me(3 months), I look after her. She IS my best friend and with that come responsibilities. Ha Ha I can't wait for her to read this one. We have all made her cry almost every day for the past week. She will get a kick outta this. We have been friends since I was 11, of course she was 12. Ha Ha Thank you all so much for your support. We need all we can get. Especially her, since she is doing all the work. |

I have been informed that she will need a mat. She has been informed that she will need at least 2 pairs of socks per day. I guess you would know better than us, having already done the deed yourself. |
