Guess the motorcycle that the young Captain Kirk rides in the newest Star Trek. There's a small prize (yeah, I'm a cheapskate so don't get your hopes up!) Well what I mean is - guess the motorcycle that was USED to create the one that was ridden. I can't care less what it's called in the movie (or if it is even referred to) Winner gets a BARELY USED set of Denso Iridium plugs IXU24 plugs removed from my XB after about an hour of dyno time. (NO, they're NOT FROM THE Star Trek bike!!!) I've been holding them as spares but have too many so they'd be PERFECT street/race plugs. Rules: you have to name the manufacturer and specific model, NOT the model year. You can use EITHER the name of the bike or its designation. Either "Night Train" or "FXSTB" would be OK. "Ninja 650R" or "New Kawi 650 Twin" would be OK. I just gotta KNOW what bike you're talking about! The plugs really are ready to ride or race in an XB. They'll work in danged near any other new bike - but you'll have to do your google research. My XB is running pump premium unleaded so the plugs are perfectly street-ready. "Contest" ends when somebody guesses correctly - however long it takes. Heck, I'll clarify the rules as I go along since I have a way of confusing people. Yep - I've got pictures. Confused by the rules? Call your lawyer. |

It reminds me of an Italdesign prototype from the late 80's. I remember seeing it on Beyond 2000. It was unique for the first practical use of hubless wheels. |

Is it one of those odd British hub center steering kits applied to some other thing? |

Since it's 15:34 in Cali, I'm gonna guess BMW GS with one of the trail kits they install for side hacks |

Whatever it is, it took a bit of inspiration from the 1982 Suzuki Katana. For the record, I think it's heavily CG'd BMW F800. |

OK - rather than have this drag on a long time... the "Committee" has decided that Microchop has come the closest... besides if these things go on too long, they drop off into limbo - so Jason Ritacco - please PM me your mailing address - I'll shoot you the spark plugs. The bike IS a Buell Lightning "Low" and was constructed in less than a couple weeks. Pics don't show the final shells as-delivered to Paramount for painting (we were just too freaking tired and burned out trying to get it together in the final few days to be taking pictures with dirty hands)

Whats the deal its 4:23pm in Cali and we still don't have the answer? Sorry must have posted at the same time, or my refresh rate sucks. I had a feeling it was going to be a Buell. (Message edited by HardCorps on April 24, 2009) |
