Just wanting to see all your Hod Rods, project cars, street/strip drag cars ect.. (no bikes please) Im picking up an 86 Trans Am from my father in law for next to nothing. Its been stting for at least 10yrs. T-tops, 305 Carb... yada yada yada... I got a sweet deal im about to close on soon. Its a 383 stroker and 4 speed tranny. It came out of a 86 Camaro street/strip car. They guy wrecked it last year and has been out of work for awhile, really needs the money.. Its said to have 600-700 horse! I know thats alot for a t-top car, so all i will be doing all the necessary bracing along with small roll cage.. should be fun! pics TBA! |

Make sure you use subframe connectors, that will help with body twist a lot. |

Not a hot rod, but it's my daily driver that's been hopped up a bit. It's a 2008 Tacoma X-Runner with the TRD supercharger. I'm taking it to the strip in May and I hope to touch 13's with it.

This is as close to a hot rod as I can get. I doubt there will ever be a thread about posting your rockcrawlers. Here is my hot rod.
I guess my dually is kinda hot roddish too. I have Dodge diesel pushing roughly 380horse and 800 foot lbs of torque. Its my tow rig and its my sleeper. Most dont expect this to move like it does.

Here's mine. It's all in pieces now. I'm fabbing the triangulated 4-link rear now, then i'll finish boxing the frame and putting new crossmembers in. It's going to be flat vintage burgundy pearl from Hot Rod Flats with black wheels and trim, NO CHROME on this one. Full air ride and shaved and smoothed everything.

Hopefully you'll get further than I have Americanmade... Well the car "should" run after i go through everything. I may just drive it with the 305 this summer and start the rest this winter! This car was bought for my wife by her dad when she was 16 and was in a minor wreck. All it needed was a fender, but he told her that the frame was bent because he had second thought about her driving a fast car. She already has a lead foot! So the car has been sitting covered in a garage since 1995.. Should be interesting! |

My project truck. '37 Ford cab, going to run a '35 Ford car grille and make my own custom hood. I've installed polished SS upper/lower control arms and rear 4 triangulated link. 8" Ford w/ 3.55 gears, 4 wheel disc brakes-front based a MustangII with S-10 drilled/slotted rotors, rear is Ford Racing Cobra rear discs w/ drilled/slotted rotors also. I have a complete Air Ride Technologies Shockwaves front and rear. Plans are for an LS1, haven't made up my kind on auto or stick yet, probably depend on what parts car I buy. As it sits now:

Thanks Cuda! I have your pics saved from the last hot rod thread i started. I want to build a rally style muscle car next, more $$ in suspension than anything. I've been lookin for some different valve covers. The 350 chevy motor is rebuilt and the valve covers, carb, and air cleaner were just thrown on to keep stuff out. I was goin to use the tires but they are pretty dry rotted and new ones are exspensive. So 18/20" staggered or 20/20" will be goin on. Here's my Colorado i just sold, i miss it already....

1979 Camaro Berlinetta Pro Street and street driven. - 406 sbc, Dart heads all done up, .625"+ solid Lunati cam, 11.5:1 compression, Holley 850 race carburetor, Hooker Comp headers, 3" Flowmaster Deltaflow 40s - Art Carr/TCI TH-400 w/ reverse manual valvebody, transbrake, and 4200 rpm stall - Ford 9" narrowed w/ 4.33 gears and disc brakes - Back halfed with Competition Engineering suspension components and coil-overs - 8 pt cage and 5 pt harnesses - Centerline Convo Pro wheels w/ MT 31x18.50's in the back and some 3" skinnies up front - Indigo Blue Metallic paint to match my Silverado - And whole bunch more junk Sold it after a few years of college. Did not have the time or the income to race anymore so I let her go. It hurt so bad to let that car go with someone else. I built everything on that car minus the transmission. Took the money I got out of it and bought a Buell and some guns. (Message edited by xblaw on April 22, 2009) |
