hey Fun Jimmy, long time! love what you've done to your Lightning, especially how you bolted up a nitrous bottle in place of the rear shock -- just kidding, just kidding! (kinda looks like it in the photo, tho...) have fun at the IMS this weekend, do NOT miss Tommi Ahvala and the Team Extreme Trials Exhibition. also do NOT miss taking a long look at the new Honda Rune -- it's one of the most amazing motorcycles i've ever seen. see you next July at SPLASH FB |

Jimmy's sporting a giant Bud label on the shock, which used to match the bikes colour. It has been replaced by a CF one to match the bodywork, but he's too modest to tell you. Time to post an updated pic, Jim. |

Thanks Ferris & Eric I forgot that there was a photo attached to my profile. Better change it as things look a little different now. Look forward to seeing you in July Ferris. Cheers! FunJimmy |

Good idea Mikej. What are the tentative dates for this event? We Buellers in Seattle shouldn't have any excuse to not join in, right? |

Ferris, Please keep in mind that no excuse clause you placed above. That applies to you too! Jim PS- Hows the S2 coming along and Shel said that she will have plenty of dark beer waiting for you on the 17th! |

not to worry, Jim, as there is NO excuse for me work on the BLURR is proceeding, altho not exactly at the pace i'd like. the Holidays consumed any fundage that might have otherwise gone into the engine, so my efforts so far have been limited primarily to detail work, such as polishing the forks and tidying up the wiring harness. tell Shel thanks for keeping me in mind as you guys stock-up for our arrival (now less than seven months away!), but keep in mind: the more beer i drink, the easier i get. you don't want THAT on your conscience, do ya??? Ferris, The holidays have a way of doing that to ones bank account. Glad to hear the Blurr will be nice and pretty come July. We will have plenty beer in stock for all by the time July gets here. How many people are heading north with ya so far? The more beer you drink the easier you get, You have always been easy my friend! Jim |

How many people are heading north with ya so far? tough to get a feel at this point -- with the winter weather having arrived, and the ride dates being so far away, a lot of folks have gone into hibernation. as the new season emerges (February for us down here, July for you guys up there...), i expect the interest FOUR-PLAY and SPLASH to increase. having said all that, i wouldn't be surprised to have at least a dozen or so bikes make the ride up the coast. You have always been easy my friend! shhhhhh, that's supposed to be our little secret.................... FB |

it's now official: there'll be a ThunderCross event (similar to BattleTrax but different) in Packwood, WA, Sunday morning July 20th during SPLASH. lotsa classes, lotsa trophies, lotsa fun, the perfect anti-hangover pill FB |

Uh, "cross" usually means dirt. Care to expand a bit, or if I make it do I have to go find some knobbies for the Buell? Actually this might make for a good "family" outing day event. |

it's pavement, no knobbies necessary. yes, good family fun -- i believe that six-year old Cody Wood (aka Code Red), son of two of the SPLASH organizers, will be competing. hmmmmmmm, i better start practicing... FB |

Is Cody the little squirt that drags his dirt bike handlebars in the corners????? Neat. When I was that age all I was dragging in the corners was the footpegs on an old Yamaha 80 street bike. Still fun though.

Hmmm, wondering how this coordinates with the BattleTrax in Vegas in July. Could some planets be aligning? Could grand things be in the works? Could get real interesting real fast. |

Charlotte, How do you plan to get west, ride or ship and fly? If you ride I can give you a few ideas from my trip westward a couple summers ago. If I make it it will probably be a last-minute thing, or coordinated with another trip. We're thinking of flying out in July maybe for a family visit and I may try to coordinate that with the S-SPLASH event schedule, but if I fly I'll be somewhat bikeless out there, unless I do well in B-Trax and somehow end up with free shipping to Vegas coupled with a mad-dash one-day run from Vegas to Washington (can you say IronButt?). Too many variables right now to say for certain. |

Mikej, I e-mail ya and you post back ? Sheesh . I am looking at vacation time and I do not see more than two weeks, ooooops unless backed up with fourth of July... two and a half weeks. Yikes ! Maybe twenty days if I am lucky... this could take some serious thought. We will be in touch on the subject, yes ??? Ferris, Never mind the new seat, if I ride out there I am going to need a new ass.... !!! Charlotte |

Ferris, Never mind the new seat, if I ride out there I am going to need a new ass.... hate to waste a good punch line (or three...), butt i think i better leave this one alone. Charlotte, a couple of years ago i rode coast-to-coast-to-coast on a Corbin-equipped X1 Lightning, and i'm happy to report that my ass came thru with flying colors (mostly red...) as always, use only as directed. I like the idea, I've always wanted to go up there but after MikeJ had his little episode a couple of years ago it made me think twice(just kidding Mike). If our Colorado deal falls through this year maybe I'll just drive up there instead. Charlotte- ever thought of going to Colorado in June for the Ridefest? Mike |
