I hate people. Long story short, I got my bike back yesterday. I was leaving work, went to the bike and was going to start it, I noticed that it was in 2nd gear. I thought that was odd, as I normally leave it in neutral. Anyway i shifted it into neutral while standing next to it, and proceeded to start the bike. I turn around to grab my helmet and crap, and the damn bike fell over on the left. My guess is someone wanted to try out the ergonomics of my bike, and didn't put the damn thing on the kick stand correctly, the vibration knocked it right over. Damage: Bent a brand new clutch lever, scraped up a hand guard, broke the turn signals outer lens. Haven't had a chance to test the turn signal mounted camera, but it physically looks fine. Figures, I just ordered an alarm for it the other day, should of gotten the overnight shipping! I was doing good to, I haven't dropped a bike in any way, shape, or form since my big Uly wreck. Perhaps now that its a Uly the curse has returned? I hope not. |

I feel your pain, once I parked my FZ1 in front of the lobby of a Best Western in Binghamton NY. I always do this thinking the added light and the possibility of being seen would be a deterrent. The clown who got on mine must have dropped it. Cracked mirror, scuffed cases and bar ends. |

That really sucks. People want to sit on a bike should go to a dealer. To put it in perspective, if someone was on the seat of your car I would think you could have them arrested for attempted felony theft. We just get no respect. Maybe the same a-hole will be lurking around your bike and you can ask him if he was the guy sitting on your bike on the 19th of March. Then hand him the bill with a knuckle sandwich attached. |

Man some people have NO decency or respect. That sucks Froggy. I generally try to park on the sidewalk of the store I'm visiting, since the time when my brand new BMW was knocked over in the parking lot of a Denny's by a busboy aiming for the spot next to mine... Came out of a drug store once to find some idiot mom perching her snot-nosed toddler on my bike! A few choice words sent her indignant clueless self away, I don't think she understood my objection. What a dingbat... |

Time to mount this baby on your ULY and of course you'd have to have some remote control switch for that special occasion: http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2008/02/ejection_seat_of fice_chair_is_just_gimmicky_enough_to_distract_you _from_your_horrible_job-2.html |

Man that stinks - and you are right people suck. I installed a Talon alarm a couple of weeks ago - hate to admit I have been too lazy to post anything on it. Pretty slick device - what are you installing for an alarm? |

Same kinda thing only more ridiculous......... A friend of mine used to always attend the Oshkosh EAA convention with his homebuilt 2-seater. Many times had found dumb-ass moms or dads with their kids sitting in his airplane for a "photo-op". They totally ignored the "please don't touch" signs plastered all over the plane. The amazing thing is that they had to actually unlatch and open the canopy to do this . Needless to say, he doesn't take his airplane there anymore....... |

Sorry to hear about that Froggy. Wonder how those people would feel if they came out to find somebody or their kid sitting in their car, just to get a feel for it. |

Yea I work at a college, they have motorcycle parking, but its a public area so anyone walking by can do as they please. I was thinking of parking right by the door of my building from now on, but it would be more exposed to foot traffic and might have more visitors. The alarm I am getting is a Scorpio paging alarm, it went on sale right as I was looking at getting it. http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Scorpio-Paging-Alarm-p-17049.html (Message edited by froggy on March 20, 2009) |
