I just bought a new "left over" M2L and was fortunate enough to find this great site. I wanted to find out if anyone had ever tried to adapt the S2 or S3 fairing (or if there may be an aftermarket one)to gain more protection than the stock "fly screen"? |

The S3 fairing is a bolt on proposition...it'll cost several hundred in parts, though. I have a Battle2win mag with the specifics. I'm sure someone else could give you more info...or just go to a dealer and peruse an S3 parts book for a while. |

Berkeley, You'll want to use an X1 flyscreen on an Em Too Low rather than a S1. You'll need a X1 Flyscreen (color of your choice), a X1 dash and a X1 Tach (unless you already have one or want a huge hole in your dash). I've run a X1 Flyscreen with the stock dash as well but it looks strange from the pilots seat. JT |

Hey I appreciate the feedback from you both, Rick A & JT......I have both the speedo & Tach dash. Rick, where do you get the "Battle2win" mag? |

Well, it unfortunately just went out of circulation this year. |

Berkeley' If you want good protection, and don't want to spend the eight hundred dollers(with dashboard) for a S-3 setup, check out some of the screens from Givi. I have an A-600 on my M2. At 90mph I sit in a still pocket with no wind buffiting. I am 5'6" this setup works well for me. Check my profile for a pic. Check www.givi.it and www.giviusa.com. Look for Airstars, in products. The Italian site has better pics. Had they been avalible at the time I may have chosen the A 750,A 755,or the A 760. I paid $90.00 plus $100.00 for the paint and stuck on a Cyclone decal. Kim |

Berkeley' Another route you can take is the Lockhart Phillips universal fairing. They run less than $50.00 delivered from some of the MC online stores. I've seen several of these bolted up to Em Toos. I'm getting one for myself. I'm setting up the bike so I can switch from a GP tailsection with the Lockhart fairing for solo riding and back to stock for 2 up. JT |

Bomber, It's a custom made GP style out of ABS. I'll see if I can dig up a pic and post it tonight. I should have the frame back this week. I've got a week off for Christmas and the whole bike will be going back together. JT |

Berkeley, I have a friend that did what you want to do. You can get his E mail address from his profile. Look for him on the storm front at the KCmob group. He is richie150. I know I am missing a letter there but you will figure it out. |

Bomber, Here 'tis the tail section (or a resonable likeness) that's going on Em in the next few weeks. JT |

That's an awesome tailsection. The insides are all hanging out...and there's a nice pad so you don't need a death grip on the bars for wheelies. |

Berkeley,I did just what you are thinking about.I put a S3 fareing an my 2000 M2.When I bought my bike I had never seen a S3,or I would have bought it instead of my M2.I can tell you the fareing makes a world of difference if your going to be doing any sport touring of any kind.If you buy all the stuff for the fareing new, your looking at about a grand!Check my profile to see how it turned out,if you decide to bit the bullet and get the fareing, you wont be disapointed. |
