Ok, so Bads1 asked me in another thread what I do for a living...and it made me curious! I wanted to ask him there, but instead I thought I'd start another thread in the interest of profiling...I mean learning about other Buell riders. So what do you do for a living? Me? www.tanktec.biz |

Whatever the boss tells me to. I drive cranes inside a big building, I cut 40,000 pound rolls of steel into pieces that get stamped into body panels for automobiles, I put the panels into racks, I repair the panels even after they are painted on a completed auto sitting in a lot, I pester people that think they don't have to work for their paycheck ( I do that for free ), I get balled up steel out of machines, mop up oil, pick up any trash I see laying on the floor, get there early, leave there late, participate in problem solving and preventive maintenance, I wear coveralls kevlar sleeves 2 pair of kevlar gloves and cotton mittens in the summer time. Jobs I've done for this company: poured iron, ran sand core blowers (hot & cold box), ground iron, chipped iron, ran a 59 digger, ran hoistes (loading/unloading/palletizing engine blocks), shoveled sand, shoveled shot, vacuumed with "Big Bertha"(think of a vacuum cleaner with a 671 blower and a 4" hose), ran concos, inspected, went to customer plants up to a month at a time troubleshooting, Cleaned said blowers, baby sat robots. monitored conveyors and ovens, Put windshield wipers on cars, broke production records time after time with the robots, Made employee of the year in 95 after saving the company over 1.5 million dollars catching problems that "weren't my job" on my break time, drove sweeper trucks and forklifts, monitored sand delivery systems. etc. I am in the UAW working in Chrysler's stamping plant at BAP. |
