I have no clue...Either a random campgrond I find when the dates get closer, or someones back yard, or the side of the road. I don't care this time. I'm low on money, so no hotel for me this year. I wonder if I can find some MRE's to keep meal prices down too... |

well, from my point of view, as a racer, it kinda sucks cause you're involved so deeply in the races, it leaves little time to do anything else. I did nothing with the Homecoming events for the last 2 years except the autograph session. Who the hell wants my autograph!!?? |

Oh Rocco, can I have your autograph!?!? You and Mike can even give out autographed pictures!!! Hey, I know BudC has a HUGE back yard, maybe we can talk him in to using it as a Bueller camp ground? |

O.K., here's a few thoughts that are running around in my head. The best part of Homecoming is being with a bunch of Buell enthusiasts. I would thoroughly enjoy myself if all we did was hang out in a motel parking lot and shoot the breeze and look at each other's bikes. I really liked the Sheraton, last year; but I like the rates of the Knight's Inn in Racine a whole lot better. While I really enjoy hanging out with a large group of Buellers, I hate riding in large groups. I loved the Seminars that Erik, Abe Askenazi and others have put on. While I enjoy watching Races, it's not critical to having a successful Homecoming. There were no races for the 20th Anniversary, but we all had a great time. Maybe we should have it in August, like we did for the 20th. Dana; we are interested in what you can do to help make this happen. You have the knowledge and experience; and you're in the right place. It's just going to take a few days for everybody to hash it all out. In the meantime, I've got a real problem. I have very limited access to the machine shop at work; which means no drain plugs, Bazooties, or any other hand crafted farkles. And I live over 1,000 miles away. What am I going to do to make Homecoming a better event? I'm thinking... |

Crusty, well, I do have access to a machine shop at work. But I'm FAMOUS for planning stuff, and never finishing it. But, heck shoot me your ideas, and maybe we can work something out! |

Also, no offense to Dana, but the only problem with Racine is the extremely BORING ride to and from there.... I can get us good rates, with advanced notice somewhere between Road America, Hals, and Racine. With immediate access right off the freeway, etc.... |

I'm with a lot of the others here.. spending a day at the races doesn't interest me very much. I know it's fun to be out there riding but personally.. it's not so much fun watching. Ditto what Crusty said about the parking lot "scene". My favorite memories from my first homecoming last year are of making new friends either in the hotel parking lot, at the track day, factory tour, etc. Road America on saturday last year was interesting, but there are far too many distractions going on all at once to focus on a stimulating conversation with someone. Which is fine if you're someone who is into watching bikes go really fast in a circle all day. No offense to those of you who are into it I'm picturing lawn chairs in a back yard on a cool summer night with an ice cold brew. Either way, I'll be there! |

Steve,no offence taken but if you can't find nice roads then we aren't looking well enough. As far as Racine goes?? Erik playing my place keep's people very close to Hotels/motels so they can relax and have a couple beers or what ever fancy's there taste buds. Also I'm within 7 miles of great lakes dragaway. HWY 20 takes you out to East Troy for the tours. Once your 12 miles into waterford the rest of the ride turns into Marked Rustic roads all the way to Buell. It seems every year you and I work against one another then together and together is how these events work great. Lets work together Steve. We can work well together |

Dana and Steve, regarding accommodations. The Waterford area has 2 hotels within about a mile of each other right on Hwy 36 advantages are: 1)About 20 miles from Danas bar 2)About 20 miles from Hals 3)About 30 to 35 miles from Racine HD and Ukes, which has a cool Harley display up stairs as both of you know 4)About 5 miles from Freds and Adrians :-) 5)About 10 miles from Gus' drivein 6)About 15 miles to the Buell factory Easy access to the freeway? Not really, but not that bad to the Rock or I-94 NOT close to RA as both of you know. Im just trying to help with ideas. Chuck |

Regarding room rates. I checked on line (AmericanInn) and was floored. Not knowing when Homecomming is, I just typed in 8/8 through 8/11 and they had some crazy prices So I called and asked what their rate was and right now its $79.00 a night, But due to a rock concert at Alpine Valley in August their rates are $159! Baymont, for th same dates were $119 for Fri and Sat and $89.00 on Sunday. Normal rate is $89.00 per night. Stay 2 consecutive nights or more and get $10.00 off per night stay. They have 54 rooms If you guys are serious about this, let me know the dates and Ill stop buy both places on Sat and see what the rates are |
