My partner,Terry, is on his second regulator in 3 months and now is being told there are none available and they are backordered at Buell. Another customer there yesterday said he went through 2 in 5000 miles as well. Anyone else shed any light on this and does anyone have a regulator? This is his main transport as trans just went in the car. |

Yes there is a backorder, I have heard that in several other posts. It is different from the one on the current models, so its not like they can grab one off the assembly line. The issue with the VR is often the connection, not the VR itself. My bike was having charging issues last summer, I cleaned the connector and it was good as new. After that I had my dealer replace it and the stator anyway in case if the stator got damaged. |

Call Al at American Sport Bike, he sells them. Maybe he has one in stock. Ships like right now if he stocks something. |

Is this on a 06-07 model? If so then check the "77" connector. It has been the culprit of many regulator failures. Sorry though I don't have a line on the regulator replacement though.... BC Steve |

I did talk with my dealer today and they said the VR I ordered in Oct. was in, but gee a three month lead time. Anyone know why the backorder on the VR's? I have had this one on order since middle of Oct and they rolled the p/n so it's a revised part, so there must have been a pretty big problem to cut the supply for three months. |
