I got the bags installed today and used the Ft Bstrd Signal Dynamics installation method. Easy to do thanks to your nice write up with pics. Thanks Ft B, Frank

Ft Bstrd has several excellent pictorial guides that have been a big help along the way. I REALLY like the looks of those bags over the original ones like I have, but at least mine hold more. Of course, I only get to take advantage of that fact on long trips. Not enough long trips. Frank, you might want to drop the idle a touch. Two times when I got it back from warranty work, the idle was upped to 1050 - 1100 RPM at idle. The RPM always hangs up too high when coming to a stop on my Uly. Setting it to 950 - 1000 RPM works best - at least on mine. |

Great looking bike/bag ensemble Frank! It was great to see you and Lynn again today. We ended up going through Manitou Springs for lunch and around the Garden of the Gods. Thanks for having us down today. Looking forward to getting a Uly ride together this spring. |

Troy, it was good to see you and Steve as well. I wish I could have gone riding but I promised Lynn I would work on the bike today so we can go riding tomorrow. She was kind enough to take me to High Country yesterday to get the bags so she calls the shots this weekend. Ride Safe, Frank |

Which size bags are those, the 30 or 40 liter? I'm interested in the 40s, but haven't heard much about them here. Not sure why. |

Great work. Love the bags! The correct idle speed per the manual is 1050. I currently have mine set below that level. The problem is that below 1050, the stator isn't spinning fast enough to provide full charge. Plug in heated gear and extra lights and an idling bike can under charge a battery at lower RPM setting. |

What make are those bags? They are the Buell Outdoorsman bags made by HB I think. They are not cheap. Buell has them listed on their web site. |

"What make are those bags? " they are cop bags. (from the uly cop bike) "It's got a cop motor, a 74 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks."

It's 1094 miles to East Troy, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it. |

Court, it is the Uly Triple Tail Bag. I connects to the back rest via a strap.
It has several places to store stuff.
And it has straps in order to use it as a backpack.
A rain cover is included. It functions like any other backpack and I originally thought it would be a good place to put the laptop in but the more I think about it I would rather not transport the laptop in the vertical position but it may not hurt anything as long as it is wrapped well. It was pricey at 110 dollars, I think. I can't really remember the price but that number sticks in my head. The fact that it attaches to the backrest of the Uly made it worth it to me. BTW: the instructions say not to put more than 17lbs in it. Frank |
