Hey Gang- Since I've been unable to ride due to the surgeries, I've been back at university. Long story short, I got myself enrolled in a for fun CNC class. I have access to the university's Milacron Saber CNC machine and a "find something to do with it" mandate from the prof. I have a completely bone stock 06. Thoughts on some projects? Thanks Gug |

Some of us(the lucky ones)have the world famous "Bazootie" made by the even more world famous Crusty. It truly kicks butt in the category of things that retain the clutch cable from blocking the view of the instruments! |

Lets see....some kinda crazy looking driving light bracket....passenger footpeg lowering brackets. Or how about a bash guard that looks good (not that it really NEEDS one) get creative with the design. |

Axle sliders Custom rearsets Custom headlight mounts Handlebar clamps Rear pulley cover The problem is that if it's a part on a bike, someone has made a billet part for it. |

Make a bunch of 08' style upper and lower triple clamps for us that are too cheap to pay for them at the dealer. Or at least for your own bike. |

Here's another idea, see if you can figure out a way to make a center stand. |

I think a center stand isn't really a CNC type project. Try a welding shop. |

Brackets that not only drop, but move forward, the passenger pegs. +100 on the folding shift/rear brake pegs/levers, and incorporate 1125-style "bigfoot" peg slots in the levers so you can move 'em On the headlight housing topic - make a housing that holds the headlights from an FXDF Fatbob. They're *about* the same size - about 1/4" larger diameter - but they're 2 low - 2 hi beam lights. On the center stand - make an adapter / cradle that you can put on a motorcycle frame flatjack that holds the round muffler. Make a wing or 2 at the top corners to brace (against rolling) to the engine cases above the muffler. And I think a hollow-spoke belt tensioner wheel that matches the front wheel would look cool, but that's just me Same bearings, same mount...just make it look like a miniature front wheel on there. |

Hang, I wan't thinking of something permanently welded to the bike. I was thinking more along the lines of something you would carry with and set under the bike then roll back and up on when needing to do tire work and what not while on the road. |

Aha. Yes, that would be a good idea, but wouldn't such a contraption be a little large? Personally, as much as I like the under-slung muffler, mass centralization, and all that; I think the one big fault in the Uly's design is the lack of a center stand option. Given the alternate touring focus of the Uly, not having a center stand really limits the ability to handle roadside repairs - or at least makes them really inconvenient. |

How about helping the guys that have the throttle plate issues. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/429542.html?1232379109 That should be a quick and easy first project!!! It will also cure a re-occuring issue. |

A bit of a threadjack but...wouldn't the oil line seperator that Dr. Greg doesn't like work as a bazootie ? |
