It's great to see a BC site on here. I've been lurking on the Northwest StormFront for last couple of years. I owned a 01 Cyclone for a year (after two Sportys and two BigTwins plus numerous jap bikes), but traded recently for a 02 FZ1 which is an awesome machine! Went to SportBikeWest on the Buell last summer as part of Deeleys BRAG event. Was a hoot! Saw SportyEric there and hope to get there again this year. Is anyone going to the WMRC roadrace at Mission this weekend? My 16yo daughter and I will be there on Sunday. We went to the last one on Canada Day, the racing was great. Big turnout of racers. Darren James did really well on his 98 S1 in Supersport Twins. We saw Gootch, Kimberley and others but didn't get a chance to talk. Hope to see some of you on Sunday! BCMike, Victoria |

I'll be there on Sunday, Gootch said I could even park my TL in the Buell parking area. He's a pretty good guy even though he makes me pay to use the bathroom at the shop now that I sold the Buell! |

Hi all, well I finally realized how you all stay in touch. SPLASH was great - glad I could make it this year! Thanks to Chris & Loni for hosting me and all the organizers (you know who you are). My friends who met us in Cougar really had a great time - Stan was so pumped that he rode backroads almost to Calif on Sunday even though he lives in Eugene, then he called some other biker friends at 10PM when he got home and woke them up to vent about how great SPLASH was. Well, I'm off to Sturgis, have fun at Donner and see you at Border Raid next month. |

Hey Canucks, don't give up on the idea of going for local rides. Do you want to continue the dialogue about getting together for a ride now and then? We can do it on the NORTHWEST stormfront if that's what you prefer. This can begin as soon as my bike is out of the shop. I found out that the problem with my stator was that the bolts that attach the rotor to the spocket sheared off and jammed into and chewed up the stator. Bib |

A group of us are doing the Duffey Loop this weekend. About 12 of us on a variety of bikes. 11 am ferry to Van, shop a bit (Deeleys Buell maybe??) then overnight party at friends in White Rock. Heading toward Hope at 10 am Saturday. Meeting others at Chilliwack Tim Hortons about 11am (join us if ya want). Up to Lillooet to camp (and party) for Saturday night. On Sunday ride to Pemberton, Whistler and ferry back to Nanaimo. Weather looks GREAT! Next weekend, off to Sport Bike West in Kelowna. Anyone else? Mike, 02 FZ1 black Victoria, BC |

SBW has gone out of my budget, but I may be taking the family up there in the cage and hanging around the dyno Saturday night. I posted the following on the NW Stormfront, but I'll risk Blake's wrath and cross post it here, too. Input is welcome. Stu, Jim, and I met last night for a great ride around Fort Langley on roads Jim and I didn't know existed. What a HOOT! We have been examining routes for a longer ride, with an over-night in Kelowna, to showcase some of the absolute best roads that BC has to offer, and the plan we came up with goes as follows: Leave Whistler a little earlier, meet at 8am, depart at 9 sharp. Coffee and gas at Lillouette (rather than lunch). From there to Lytton, up #1 to Spense's Bridge, then across to Merritt for lunch. From Merritt, those with tender butts can take the freeway to Kelowna, our over-night stay. There is also the option of taking the Coldwater Road, parallel to the Coquihalla, which may have a mile to two of gravel at the end, pay the toll, and freeway home to Vancouver. Those wanting more twisties will go from just west of Merritt up to Logan Lake, across to Kamloops, down the Barnardville road to Vernon, then the Westside Road to WestBank, and double back a couple of miles to Kelowna. Monday, we have before us the Green Mountain road, from Penticton to Oliver, then to Osoyoos, then either home through the States for those who hail from there, or back on the Old Hedley Road, then the Hope-Princeton, or maybe even up from Princeton to Aspen Grove, and back over the Duffy Lake although that would be pretty amibitious. A concern was whether anyone has already made reservations in Osoyoos (Bob?), or could they be cancelled? The route proposed would be well worth the doing. I'll try to get a map posted and I'll tally the miles involved later tonight. We think the short route would have people in Kelowna about 5pm while the long route (the fun stuff) would have us done by about 8. More later |

Anyone interested in going for a ride next Tuesday night? I have to stop by Deeley's before they close to get my TPS adjusted. Sounds like I have to leave work a little early to make it, but some sacrifices have to be made. I was thinking about going out to Harrison the back way and have a I have to put a few miles on to break in a new primary chain so I can adjust it before Border Raid. Bib Can't Wait! |

No IMS for me. We get ours in Abbotsford in late January. Jim's going to have his S1 on show there. I'm hoping I might be seriously shopping by then, although the Sporty may have to survive another year yet. ( A couple more rotations of the wheels of justice in wifey's insurance claim.) |
