Ok this project has cost me a ton of riding time and it's finally ready to show off! it is not a plug and play venture if you think you might want to go this route. I have to say this is a really cool looking front end. the madstad brakets and screen will be mounted up later. I used it as the backing for the fly screen I had to fab. Half cr fly and half ULY fly some greatstuff foam insulation to create a form, a fiberglass kit and 2 weeks of mold and sand fill paint fill sand paint.
The headlight wiring plug didn't match up so I used the ULY harness and installed the HID's. light has a very focused beam with a light shelf where the light stops. The HID with the intense beam drowns out my PIAA's.
I used the old cross brace mounts to secure the upper portion of the new light. The lower mount of the new light is a angle alum to hole the rubber mounting studs. The angle screws right into the empty hole in the lower triple.
This is the FrankenULY-CR fly screen. A bit sturdy but I still have to mount the Mad Stad brackets and the windscreen.
I found this intresting CAGIVA rubber grommet in the CR light. I guess there is a start to the new HD deal. |

Nice job Rotorhead! Man that looks like it took a lot of time and patience, neither of which I have enough. |

Stop the presses! What is that?!? That is freaking awesome!!! You deserve much praise for this. I'm hoping Buell will borrow that idea and implement into future models as it looks absolutely stunning. Great job! |

sumnabiatch, I bet that solves the poor xb lighting issue. Looks very sinister, nice job. |

Man that looks like it took a lot of time and patience, neither of which I have enough. I find that statement a little hard to believe after seeing photos of some of your work ! |

Very nice! I always thought the Uly would look better with a more substantial fairing. Looks great. Chris |

I figured The mod had to be done to improve the breed. A ULY 1125 would have to look something like this. With the xb parts bin bikes are easy to make, the factory could do this. A mock up is way better than a photoshop and a hour or 2 to waste at work. |

ProSeries race pipe, dyno tuned, 08 larger turn triple clamps, ride side airscoop, and this winter the XB9 primary and I thought I was all finished with major mods. I want one! Tell me the lighting is markedly improved? ~jammer |

The headlight outshines my PIAA 510's with the extream whites. I now use the PIAA's to fill only the gaps and edge of the road. I have to do the Maximum HID PIAA mod to equal the lights out. The CR light has aiming screws just like a car headlight pretty neat. I did the 9 primary swap between mock up and making the fly. SANTA never found out how bad I was last year!!! |

That really does look good. Well done. Hopefully Erik is watching since the Uly definitely needs better lighting. Here's to your efforts; (Message edited by tootal on January 07, 2009) |

That definitely looks good. You have my envy. I'm not sure I could pull my bike off the road long enough to do that, even if I did have the skill set. |

Now that you have the CR headlight, get to work on putting the 1125 engine in it! |
