From RRW (print) Dec 2008, p21 - 2009 Buell 1125CR
quote:Erik Buell: "I do get tired of reading,'my buddy is a racer and says the Buell will never work' I always want to say 'Who the F*CK is your buddy and is he faster than Shawn Higbee?"
I think there's a T-shirt saying in that !!! And yes, Higbee took another record in another Twins class today at Willow Springs! (and he's still "only" on a stock motor) (Message edited by slaughter on November 17, 2008) |

The "My Buddy" (person) can be grouped in with the other fictitious "MY- insert the specialty) that every-one seems to know.. The guy is an agitator, he never has a definitive answer, makes assumptions, and generally causes unrealistic expectations in the person he's advising. The most famous is the "MY MECHANIC", he's the guy that knows more than God about the subject at hand, and yet he never fixes anything. |

Yes, and I heard that "My Buddy's" cousin had his kidneys stolen from him in a vegas hotel last year. It's true! He woke up in a tub full of ice, with a note telling him to dial 911, and everything would be alright as long as he didn't get out of that tub! |

Skinstains Posted on Monday, November 17, 2008 Hey Teeps, don't hold back tell us how you really feel about "my buddy". I was a motorcycle mechanic for 15 years, there were many encounters with "MY BUDDY" and "MY MECHANIC." All I can say is the look on the customer's face when we told them, 'then have your buddy fix the thing', was priceless. A sub set of "MY BUDDY" is "I'm an engineer." |

everytime I hear a "my Buddy" this or that, it always brings to mind... http://marcdavignon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/20 08/07/mybudfl.jpg And yes, I would trust the doll before I trust any friend that would call you a 'buddy' |

We're trying to get permission from Buell and Higbee and get something done with ALL proceeds to go to the Red Flag fund and the Roadracing World Action Fund. Stay tuned but we have to get permissions in place. The quote is (C) RRW and images are copyright of their respective owners. |

I'll take one. That's neat that it will be a fundraising thing--hopefully all the entities will be game. |

I didn't mean to make it seem that I was slamming Glitch!!!! Far from it. We're trying to get permission to get it onto Tshirts and some banners... it kinda has to be approved as a courtesy to those folks referred to in the lines. They'd also have to understand the use to which it's being put... like AFM's use of Zoran Vujasinovic's image with the "Twist Throttle, facking poosey" - done as a fundraiser for the cornerworkers. Heck, Higbee thought it was a cool idea and it kinda transcended all the different Buell teams out at Willow this weekend. It's fun, you gotta admit. |

Cool - make it happen! I'd be in for at least two t-shirts for southern hemisphere delivery. Nice idea on the fundraising too |
