I've got a weird one. I went to start my 07 Ulysses this morning and the cooling fan came on and the bike wouldn't start. It would crank, but not fire. All that time the cooling fan was running! I played with the run/start switch and the ignition switch and finally got the fan to stop running and then the bike started normally. Weird. It was damp and cool out. Any ideas? |

Dropped off the Uly today and the service writer is very confident about the temp sensor being at fault as Bombardier stated. He's also going to fix the rocker cover leaks and replace the shifter rubber all under warranty. Cool. Looks like I'll be driving the cage for a while as they had bikes stacked deep for service. Maybe I can get my Suzuki stator replaced soon to appease my "parked bike syndrome." |

It's been a while since I posted, but wanted to mention how the repair went. I couldn't pick up the bike for two weeks due to surgery. But I'm happy to report the bike is running well now. No more early morning fan action. Thanks Bombardier! |

Dang it that I spoke too soon and jinxed myself. This morning while starting the bike to go to work, the fan came on again. Being it's 44 degrees outside, it wasn't overheating. I played with the kill switch until the fan stopped so I could start the bike. I was able to ride it to work with no issues. After my 8 hour shift, the fan came on again while trying to start and of course it would not start. Finally messing with the ignition switch and the kill switch, I got it to start and it ran poorly. It finally cleared up once I was geared up and ready to go. So a call to the dealer and I'm set to drop it off again 60 miles away to the dealer. |

Check your wiring loom near as it routes around the steering head. May be that chafing has shorted crossed some wires and sending the wrong voltage to the ecm on the temp circuit. |

I'm waiting to hear how this turns out as I'm having something similar. My Uly hasn't been starting like normal & then the check engine light started coming on occasionally & intermittently the fan runs at times when it shouldn't to include prior to start. Voltage at the temp sensor is fluctuating & new sensor is on order. The dealer replaced my wiring harness earlier in order to fix other problems. The insulation was different & the new one seems thicker. |
