I have been pondering an 09 Buell and am a bit disheartened that if I want to install after market intake/exhaust components I am unable to re-map the ECM. This makes it useless to do such mods.........When will this be fixed?? Any idea?? |

Met this guy at American Sport Bike night and he knew all about that kind of stuff. I would call him. Terry @ JT&S performance. |

The ECM in the newer models is a learning ECM. It has the ability to do short and long term trims which over time, will compensate for mods to a certain extent. |

I'M WORKING ON IT. AS I DONT KNOW ANYONE WHO DOES IT YET!!!! I HAVE THE DATA I JUST NEED MORE SKILL ON WRITING THE PROGRAMS. AS American Sport Bike I SENT THEM A LOT OF NEW DATA A WHILE BACK. SO THEY CAN SEE THE DATA BUT THE ECMSPY AND DIRECTLINK WILL NOT DO THE BIKES. THE RACE TUNER WILL BUT ITS HARD TO USE IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND MANY MANY FUNCTIONS. PLUS YOU NEED A RACE LICENSE TO BUY ONE. I MAY GET IT GOING THIS WINTER. BUT THE 09 BIKES WILL NOT BE 100% TILL 2010. BUY A USED 07 OR OLDER. AND THEN ITS A GO. IF YOU GET A 09 GET A LC1 FROM INNOVATE. THEN SET IT UP TO INPUT INTO THE NB TO THE ECM SCALE THE AFR TO 14.2 FOR THE WIDEBAND ON THE LC1 PROGRAMMING AND LIVE WITH IT. ITS NOT PERFECT BUT WORKS GREAT. AND ITS ALL YOU Have for the newer un-tunable buells for now. and the older buells work a lot better with tuning and a lc1 |

Sort of off topic, but I notice Trojan Horse has a Free Spirits TFI unit for '08 bikes. Might be another option for getting later bikes to run good with bolt on mods. |

I was told that '08 bikes with a build date in 2007 are tuneable with ECMSPY. Does anyone know if this is true? Mine was built in October of '07, but I don't want to buy a 50-dollar cable if it can't be tuned. |

The early 2008 builds that haven't been updated by a dealer work fine with ECMspy. Not sure when they stopped working right, but its safe to say if you have a may 08 or later bike, it won't work. |
