Buell calls the lower plastic fork protectors, fenders. Has any one mounted aux. lights to these fenders? I have some Hella FF50's that I would like to mount at about top of the front tire height, maybe lower. I really don't want to clutter up the GME bar with them. Any ideas appreciated..thanks. John H.

Thanks, Froggy, I was thinking, that the lower fender might flex, causing the lights to bounce around while underway. However, they appear to be mounted solidly. . |

I haven't seen the fenders used, but New12R's bike has aux lights on the fork tubes just above them. |

I have Moto Lights attached to my forks about where Froggy's got his. I think you get a better effect with the "triangle" of light. jep |

They were on there nice and solid, only thing holding them on was a huge screw going through the base plate then into the hole that normally just holds the fender on. |

The only bad thing I can see with mouting lights on the fork protectors is that those fenders move up and down with the tire and will be subjected to EVERY bump in the road. If they have much weight then I'm gussing fatigue will fracture the plastic and most likely the bulbs will suffer short life due to the vibes. Otherwise I do like the triangle of light configuration. ""...those fenders move up and down with the tire and will be subjected to EVERY bump in the road."" Good point. With that in mind, I know that LumaLink makes nice light brackets ... but at $200? ...Okay, I am a cheap SOB, But I only paid $85.00 for the Hella FF50's. Here's the LumaLinks w/ FF50's http://www.lumalink.com/lumalink_brackets.html . |
