What cable lubers are you folks using? I think all we have are clutch, throttle, and (I suppose) exhaust valve.

In all my nearly 50 years of riding, I've never purchased a cable luber; I think it's time. So what do you recommend?

Someone here suggested a zip lock sandwich bag with a small hole in one corner and a very small hose clamp(I think it was Treadmarks). I tried it and it works great.

Put the hole over the end of the cable housing, clamp it on(I put an O ring over the outside of the bag corner then clamped it). Put some of whatever is your favorite lube, zip the bag shut and gently squeeze that fluid down the cable(moving the cable around helps).

On the clutch cable I do it when I am changing the trans fluid, so Formula + is what I use. While the side cover is off I fold a 'V' in a paper towel and guide it in under where the cable enters the housing to catch the black crud that will come down the cable.

I also have been using the cable luber that Dentguy linked to for many years, and really like it. It allows me to use the cable lube of my choice. (I prefer Tri-Flow)
The nice part is that by using an aerosol, it power flushes the lube through the cable, which cleans out whatever crud is built up inside, and it allows me to do the job in a matter of seconds.

Lost,

I don't want to hijack this thread, but the battery is OK so far. I will start a new thread in a week or so, I will run a voltage test and let you know.

Thanks, Dentguy. I've actually been considering the Motion Pro luber. They seem to make pretty good stuff.

BTW, anyone else find the word "luber" a little unseemly?
