While adjusting the shifter linkage on my bike this afternoon, I noticed a crack in my shift lever. Upon further inspection it is in 2 pieces Any one in the Northern NJ area have a bike they are not riding this weekend or at least on Sunday that I can scrounge this part off of? I know its a long shot but its worth a try. Mine is an 06 XB12X but I can only assume its the same on all Buells. My girl was so looking forward to the ride we signed up for months ago this Sunday and I haven't had the heart to tell her yet (I've only known for about 2 hours) I am going to try and fix it but it is such a lousy piece of cast aluminum I am unsure of the durability of the fix. by the way its the piece that goes on here I will owe you for an eternity and first 17 rounds are on me Thanks guys Dave |

Look for a shop that can aluminum weld and don't slam shift until your new one comes in! |

I'm going to Liberty's gig tomorrow. I have one that I'll bring with me. I'll be the guy with a cane riding a red XT with a red seat. |

Damn, I am not even home. I am not using my bike this weekend, I would of gladly yanked it off and overnighted it. |

J B weld. first dip both broken pieces in rubbing alcohol to clean them. Then coat the shifter shaft {the part sticking out of the bike)with vaseline so the epoxy won't stick to it. You'll need to get it off afterwards to replace it. then mix your 2 part J B weld and goop it on as much as you can, the cracked surface, the outside, the inside, everywhere you can THen let it cure overnight. It should hold until You can replace it. IT's not the prettiest repair but it will do the trick! good luck & enjoy your ride |

Crisis averted, for now. I was JB welding it until Crusty clued me into Rahway (didn't know there was a dealer there). They have 2 in stock, I will be picking it up tomorrow morning. Thanks Crusty and if all goes well I will see you in the afternoon, sodas are on me. |

Crusty, well done! I never cease to be humbled by the selflessness shown by Buellers when others in the fraternity are in need!

Crusty clued me into Rahway (didn't know there was a dealer there) Not only a dealer, but a BadWeB sponsor and a Buell friendly dealer as well. They will take care of you and you'll be glad you found them. |

Remember when we used to have BRAG Buell atlas maps that were annually up dated as to where Buell dealers were in the World? |
