Hey all,how is the world of Buell in the Northern hemi, got a question for the brainstormers,I have a new engraved Timing cover for the Uly,and once I drill out the rivets holding the original on,what size/type of bolts/allen screws do I use to refit and what size tap for threading the holes.
Cheers from Downunder,Phil

That sounds a bit large. I'm guessing #8 or #10 and since you have to tap the holes then the thread choice is yours.

Duh. Absolutely a bit large, sorry. Been out of the game (physical therapy) for a couple months, hands-on memory is shot. Sorry - go with what Steve says : )

I used a 10/32 allen head bolt at 3/8" long. Works perfect.

It was something we fabbed up because I kept bashing in my exhaust, actually blew a hole out of it with back pressure and a high center, the stocker is back on now, and I have the touratech bash plate.

The holes for the rivets are just right to run a 10-32 tap into. Use stainless allen heads or button heads. I've done this to my HD and my Buell. Looks good and works well.
