I just bought an 08 XT, and a friend of mine who has an 06 Uly recommended that I get brighter headlights. He went with 65w bulbs, but pointed me to some 100w Xenon H7 bulbs from Hella.

Is there any risk of these bulbs getting too hot for either the mounting or wiring?

I liked Silverstars for awhile but they kept burning out too fast on my bike.

Better to get one of these from BadWebber Gme:

GME's light bar

A good solid mount for mounting some real lighting and it'll help you burn off that nasty extra power from your voltage regulator...

I like HID option my self.

I have 200Watts of power and much less heat than stock 55W bulbs.

FWIW, Xenon bulbs run a lot cooler than halogen - I had Silverstars, as well, on my Jeep Liberty and went through 4 bulbs in 3 years.

Had silverstars on my Uly and PIAA H7 bulbs on my SS, both are great. Only had them on the Uly for a month before the wreck. I bought my SS with them already installed, so i dont know exact mileage, but i put about 8k on the bike myself.

I also have Silverstar bulbs on my car, they burned out left and right, but the Silverstar Ultras i put in Jan 12th 2007 haven't burnt out yet.
