I am looking to get a half cover for the Uly - any ideas. Its not that I care about the bike getting wet, but getting it all dried off after a hard nights rain in the morning, twice this weekend, was a pain. Plus the hotel manager made a big deal about me using his bath towels. FWIW, I did find this on ADVrider: http://www.eztouring.com/traveller.htm . |

""Dry the seat and go ride. It dries itself."" But what happens if some of the water happens to fly off and hit me while I'm riding ... then what? . |

Johnboy, you are quite the comedian "But what happens if some of the water happens to fly off and hit me while I'm riding ... then what?" That's funny stuff there. I've always thought that water could be really dangerous if it hit me while riding. Never could figure out what to do if that happened though.....I've always had this fear of sprinklers, too. |

That's ok. You really want sarcasm? Ask about highway pegs.

""what did you expect from a bunch of uly owners"" To be honest, Luftkoph, I expected a little bit more compassion and respect in my time of need from my brother Uly riders. But I guess that maybe that's asking a little too much. . |

You know, you could always take the seat off and keep it in your motel room. |

""You know, you could always take the seat off and keep it in your motel room."" Thanks Crusty, thought of that, then I realized that my official Buell XB12X Ulysses Stow-N-Go Bag is not waterproof. John |

But what happens if some of the water happens to fly off and hit me while I'm riding ... then what? Usually, when water hits me, I get wet. |

JB, I think I remember Treadmarks posting pics of a half cover that may work for what you need, but can't find the thread. I'm sure he'll be along eventually. |

Uly1080 is correct. The picture showed the outline of the hands of the child trying to escape from his top box. |

I use the large one for Buell from Quik shade. The large on will let you protect the switches on the handlebars. |

See. We help you. We simply force you to catch a little grief for being such a Nancy Boy about getting wet first. Now run along or you'll be late for you're pedicure. |

Buell makes a half cover for the 12x/xt, though it states that it's water repellent... http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=2&CategoryID=9&Produ ctID=4004 |

I have a Geza gear cover for my firebolt that I love. You can even tow your bike with it on. I tested it up to 75-80 on my way up to homecoming in 06. They are expensive, but the quality is first rate. www.gezagear.com |

I have the half cover from Buell, I got it through Chicago HD, and it fits even with my big ass barn door Cee Bailey's windshield and the Happy-Trail easy bake ovens mounted. For 64 bucks, it was a deal! We had a "severe weather" situation last week with wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, and the cover stayed put. The little elastic "peg straps" done their job! |

Carlos had a functional economical one at MBIV. He had the only dry bike in the morning. It looked kinda like something from shipping docks everywhere, bubbly plastic stuff, self stick if I remember. There are some pics of that around somewhere too! So is your main concern having damp panties? (Message edited by etennuly on June 23, 2008) |
