I just bought an 03 xb9r, been running great for 2 weeks. now it's cutting out when the clutch engages in first. I have to hammer the throttle to get her going; once she's warmed up it's not a problem. If I turn it off and back on, the problem's back. Any ideas? |

Watch the tach when it cuts out. If the tach immediately drops to zero but the engine is still coasting down and not stopped, that is an indication of an intermittent 12VDC signal to the ignition coils. But if the tach still tracks the engine rpms as it is cutting out, that is an indication that the problem could be with the spark plug cables shorting out or loose on the spark plugs or the coil terminals. |

The tach tracked the rpms, so I replaced the plugs and wires - looks like that was the problem. Thanks for the help! |
