I have an '04 Firebolt. The headlights - well - they suck. The term "dim bulb" comes to mind. I really didn't realize how bad they were until I added an 1125R to my fleet. What are others doing? I don't think replacing the bulbs with HID lights would really help - I think the problem is with the reflective coating inside the housing. Thoughts? |

I think your best bet is what some are finding works well: new headlight assy's and immediately changing out the halogen and installing HID. You wouldn't gain anything get your money's worth by putting HIDs in the old degraded reflectors. |

Is there a way to "refresh/recoat" the housing? Or are they just toast? |

Toast is such an undignified term, albeit apropos. Think of them as likely to become ornamental conversation starters if displayed on the coffee table. Said conversation should include the often told story about how I became an unwitting beta tester for a motorcycle factory's projector-beam headlight development program. And loved it. |

There have also been retro-fits of Hella's 90mm (?) high and low beams done with great success. Steve's Uly-Bolt produced many times more light than my 03 'bolt last homecoming, and he only had the low beam wired up! When he gets time to finish the mount kit for them I'll be swapping the stock out for the Hellas. |
