Everyone knows I got a few screws loose, but after my ride today, I discovered that I had one more:

that's not loose, that's MIA. the screw that holds the quiet insert in my jardine committed suicide by jumping off a motorcycle. of course with nothing holding it back, the insert flew off somewhere too. guess i needed to use more teflon tape. |

WHAT?? You didn't check that during your pre-ride inspection? Was there when I left. Wasn't when I returned. I'm still a DC though. |

It cries out for blue LocTite and the proper torque spec.. I see no evidence of any having been used the last time. Jack |

You think that's bad I had a Lowrider in my Rental fleet years ago that was delivered with the two screws that attached the top motor mount to the heads were missing. Not only were they missing, they were never installed |

Weird. I noticed the other day when I washed my Buell that the bolt that locates the front brake line on the lower tree had backed itself out BUT the bolt is still in the holder... |

Another confession: Was removing the front wheel on my 69 Triumph the other day. The axle pinch bolts were finger tight. Easy removal, but had to ponder having the wheel take off without me on my next ride! |
