Was wondering if anyone here has the EXO400 or 700 helmets from Scorpion. How do you like them? My current helmet has a glare problem in direct sunlight. Was wondering if the Scorpion smoked shields have this problem or not? |

I like my Scorpion EXO700. I do not have the smoked screen so I can't help you with that, but I think the periphial(sp?) vision could be a little better. It just forces you to make a more positive head check when changing lanes. (Message edited by S1wmike on March 21, 2008) |

I've got a 400 and 1000, and the wife has a 700. No problems with any of them. The 1000 is the nicest of them all. No glare problems with any of them. My 400 has a mirrored visor, the 1000 has the smoke flip down, and my wife's 700 has the dark tint. I must like them or I wouldn't have 3 of them. |

I have an EXO 700. I love it. The only gripe I have is that the chin skirt is $8 extra. I need to get it so that the wind stops setting off the sidetone on my Autocom. But this is obviously not something that would be a problem to 90% of the people who buy this helmet. |

I have the 700. No problems with either the clear or the Blue shield. Of note... The blue shield is really dark with sun glasses on under it!! |

700 series with smoked shield works great for this application. Lots of venting and comfortable.

+1 EXO 1000 the cheek bolsters inflate to better hold the helmet steady on your head. They pump up like the early `90's sneakers did. By rappidly squeezing the air bladder in the chin guard the cheek bolsters inflate for a better fit. The 1000's have a retractable tinted sunshade within the shell of the helmet. The clear sheild has an anti-scratch layer. Anti-fog as well. Shatter resistant. My biggest kudos goes to the fact I hear no where near as much wind noise. I tested a couple helmets and the 1000 has the quietest interior. The vents move more air than any other full face helmet I own. Best one available IMHO |

superb customer service as well... when i first got mine, i had one of the twist grips come off, probably not installed completly by myself, and inquired about purchasing a new one, and low and behold they sent me two.... at no charge.... i love the helmet as well, and my next one will be a scorpion as well. |

How is the wind noise with the 400 and 700? How about turbulence? |

I just got a 400, I like it as good or better than the Arai. I was riding with it today and I couldn't tell the difference. Actually, I think the 400 is quieter. sportbiketrackgear dot com has them on sale for $100. The price is way better than the Arai. |

I've got two Exo 400's and a Exo 700. I run them all with either a smoked, tinted or colored visors and never had any issues with them. I highly recommend the Scorpion full face helmets. |

I've got two EXO400's. Like the brand a lot. Looking at getting the 1000 but just need the extra cash. I have used AFX and HJC before and the scorpion is much better. |

I have a 400. It is the helmet I use the most. I have a HJC and the Buell KBC Helmet as well but neither get the riding time of the Scorpion. Good: - Fits my egg shaped head better than the HJC - Has a better strap than the Buell KBC - Better vents then either of the other two. - No glare issue, but neither due the other two helmets. - Anti-Fog shield works great and probably the reason I do not wear the HJC during the winter. Not so Good: - problems with options features. - I bought to optional silver looking shield buttons. After a year the finish started to chip off. I finally changed them back to the dull gray standard ones. - I had a mirrored finish shield. It easily scratched so I would suggest lens cloths for cleaning the bugs off. - I bought the Transition shield. I thought they packaged the wrong shield at first. The shield would not transition at first, then it finally did. When it did it wasn't much of a change. Over time it quit changing tint and now has a permanent very very light tint. Very similar to the standard tint on car windows. (Message edited by M2nc on March 22, 2008) |

I have a 700, no glare with photochromatic shield and much less wind noise than my last HJC. The Scorpions must be good if Mat Maladin switched to them. |

Dave, What size Arai did you go from and to what EXO size? I have an old quantum that I need to replace but the damn thing fits so good I hate everything else I try. |

i went from a med hjc to a large scorpian . from other scorpian threads seems the general consensus is to buy one size up from whatever else you're wearing . that being said , i wouldn't buy a helmet w/o trying it on first . |

Dave, I'll be there for Vintage days and the Buell track day in september. You bringing the 1125R out for that one? Also what model Arai did you switch from? (Message edited by mbsween on March 24, 2008) |

Matt, I'll be at the Mid-Ohio Inside Pass, don't know if I'll make Vintage Days; we'll see. The Arai is a Signet GT, few years old. |

Ok, all this talk made me do it. I just ordered a EXO 700 Fury from sportbike trackgear. I got the helmet with the blue mirror shield shipped for under 165 to go with the new bike. I hope it vents as good as they were talking about. I'll keep the ZR-1 for winter riding. Thanks for convincing me to spend more money! |
