is the brake light on an 1125r the same on all the xb's? reason is i found an intergrated turn signal led's for $100 cheaper then the xblights i was going to get. and you dont have to use the new relay because it has built in load equilizers. i dont wanna piss anybody off so if you need a link, pm me. 1125 board might already know the site. |

It is the same! I'm curious to see what you found? Really lets face it, there are a few options out there for you. (although, I hope you go with mine ) but I would stay away from the ebay special C.A. (if thats what your looking at) -Robert www.xblights.com xblights@yahoo.com |

Well, more so what type of LED do they use? There is a difference! a big difference! if its the round kind, I highly suggest leaving it alone. but if its the square, 4-prong style they are better. but then you have to look at the quality of the LED itself. P.M me a link, i'm really curious to see what it is! And even more I hope it doesnt take my business :-) But competition does make the world go round. Thanks! -Robert xblights@yahoo.com |

Thanks for the link, although that brand is pretty common around these parts. Its Clear Alternatives. And if you go that route, you can find them cheaper online. (search under firebolt or lightning) But those actually were the ebay special lights I was talking about. the Lightning/Firebolt/1125R all use the exact same rear taillight (with exception of license plate illumination) you can find them for the XB's on ebay all day long for cheap. But I will still highly suggest one from either AL's or I. I have had 3 customers so far that had those and upgraded to mine and loved the difference it made. As I'm sure AL has too. actually I think AL posted a comparison with them and his brand, i'm sure you can find on here somewhere. They use the 2-prong round style LED's. from what I gather, they are brighter then a stock bulb, but not by much. I have also heard the turn signals are not very bright. But have not seen one for myself up close to know, just hear-say. Good luck on your purchasing decision. I know it can be tough! |

I have the Clear Alternatives brand with integrated turn signals. The brake light is brighter than stock, but not by much, and the turn signals are very difficult to see during the day - they really aren't effective, so I don't recommend the setup. |

+1 badlionsfan. $100 is a lot to spend if nothing happens...but if you spend $100 less and that SUV drives through you.... Just for grins I partially dissected a Rocker turn signal yesterday at work. The Rocker has only turn signal housings for run/stop/turn, like the Nightster...except the Rocker is LED. Pulled it apart, found a nicely done reflector with lots of facets to really augment the light coming from the single (!) LED in the center. Poked a little further...yup, Lumiled. Checked the price book, and the *cheap* Rocker (not chrome) signal is $203. EACH. Holy Crap!!! All LEDs are not created equally. Not all LEDs have the same beam spread - some are pinspots, some are umbrellas, some are inverted cone...and all interact differently with their lenses and reflectors. Good visibility is more than just a light source. You need a good reflector and lens setup to transmit the light to other drivers. Remember - when you look at a brake light, you aren't looking at the bulb..you're looking at multiple reflections of the bulb in either the lens, reflector, or both. Spend wisely, grashoppah... And no, I don't use XBLights products (where's that S2 light, Robert?? LOL)...but I used to do concert lighting and teach color theory in college. If I don't blink when it turns on, it's not bright enough for the back of my bikes. |
