I keep buying and flicking through mags, etc, in the hope of seeing anything on the Ulysses but I've failed so far. There's plenty on the BMW 1200's, BMW Megamoto, Ducati Hypermoto, KTM 950, etc, and lately I seen a few comparison tests on the same bikes but the Ulysses is never in the line-up or even mentioned - WHY? On spec, it should easily be considered a serious competitor especially as there aren't any 1200cc supermoto-style bikes for less than about £10k. I personally consider the Ulysses to be a more Supermoto type (and a single entity in this segment due to it's tank size, economy, luggage capability and pillion capability - i.e all the benefits of a scratcher but without the impractical features) than adventure bike due to it's awesome handling and grunt. Anyone have any road test copies they can share? |

There were some done back when the bike was introduced. I don't have links handy, but look through mags from 2006 and I think you'll find some. |

All the other bikes have been around for ages, yet they are still being reviewed plus the Ulysses has been updated so why no follow up features? I think people must assum it's too obscure or unpopular - spose that good news for exclusivity i fyou have one! I've seen the on-line stuff thanks but no tests in UK mags on UK roads and tracks. |

Hi, yep, saw that and it's the only group test I've ever seen for the Uly. Very strange! By the way, hows the 'kit doing? |

so why no follow up features? It's a Buell. The brand everyone loves to ignore. |

While I can not say much for the UK mags, I think the main reason you don't see much about the Uly in US publications is that it is sort of an oddball machine, even more so than most Buells. The US is a market of cruisers and sports bikes. Dual sports in general, and especially big dualies, are pretty much overlooked from what I have seen. If it doesn't have 150 hp or 150 pounds of chrome, it just doesn't get the interest of the public => no interest from vendors to advertise in magazines that spend much time covering stuff that falls outside the "norm". I have seen much more written on the Uly's than on the other XBs, by a long shot. |

What am I - a ham sandwich. I'm thinking roast beef! What? I suppose you've written about and photographed a Uly for publication? I love my Uly too! |

No offense intended DD. I know there are some articles about the Uly, but not much since 2006. The 2008 Uly addresses many of the complaints that were in the magazines, but I have not seen any road tests for the 08. If a sports bike is offered with a new turn signal configuration, it gets a full road test. The Uly gets major suspension and engine upgrades, and it gets a passing mention in the news section. I know what my Uly is like, and to be honest, I really don't care what the magazines think about it. However, it is kind of fun to see "my bike" in the rags. |

Motorcycle Consumer News did a comparison test between a 2007 Uly and a comparable BMW. They loved the Uly. I think it was in an issue last summer. |

Maybe it's because the Uly is the Rodney Dangerfield of adventure bikes. "No Respect"! "I Tell Ya"! "No Respect"!

Good visual, Rodney dropping the kickstand, stepping away from his Uly, pulls out a remote and punches a few keys, the beer tap pops out of the tailbag, sidebag woofers kickn' to "Cow-boy Bay-Bee!" |

I've got one done by an Aussie mag on the 06, great read! http://brat.info/buell/page2.htm Cheers That was refreshing! Only somewhere other than North America will you read "I sh!t you not" and "blinkers jiggle around like a strippers titties" in a moto magazine. :-) |
