I am in the market for a new jacket and curious what you guys were using. I have looked at the Icon jackets and some Alpinestar jackets. |

I have the Icon Motorhead. Nice jacket, good venting, and I like the collarless design, which seems to generate less wind noise than collared jackets. External chest pockets are kinda awkward thou. Full sleeve liner is toasty. Mostly water resistant, but the vent zippers will leak.
I also have the Alpinestars Spinner jacket. I went the orange for visibility. Pretty good venting, vest liner. I wear it the most.

I REALLY like mine from NJKLeathers.com. Here's what mine looks like:
Very comfortably cut. It's fit for US riders not "euro" sizing. They have a deal going now that if you buy a leather jacket, you get a textile jacket free. I have their mesh, textile, and leather jackets and love them all! |

It depends on what features you want your jacket to have and what you are going to use it for, but my jacket from Fox Creek Leather is the nicest jacket I have ever owned. They have a lifetime warranty, and they stock long and short sizes. They will also make a custom sized jacket for the same cost as some places charge for an off the rack. For a street jacket, they are hard to beat. www.foxcreekleather.com Bill |

I have 6 different leather jackets. Depends on conditions and type of riding as to what works best. |

Alpinestar TZ-1 jacket. Good jacket overall. Somewhat better venting that solid leather due to the slivers of fabric up the front of the arm and 'dotted' leather around the collarbones. I have the black one.

Kowpow, I SO wanted to like that jacket. It looks fantastic. Unfortunately, with the way it's cut it jammed the neck and shoulders up when I sat on the bike. It works best with a "sportbike" posture. The upright riding position of the Uly proved the jacket too long in the rear. Maybe I'm just stumpy, but I had the 60. It was perfectly tight across the shoulders and chest, but just didn't fit. Shame. I LOVED the look and feel of it (off the bike). |

I have 4 Vanson jackets and would not buy anything else for riding. Very well made, outstanding leather, and some great features. Buell jackets used to be made by Vanson, but i don't believe the new ones are. |

I have a black and white H-D perforated Leather (Baton Rouge, I think) and a black and gray H-D Kingsman with liner. Both accept armour in the shoulders and elbows. I have had the perforated one for at least 6 years now and just had to replace the main zipper. OFF TOPIC; I have had serious trouble finding gloves that fit good. I purchased a nice pair of Buell gloves about 4 years ago, but they are now worn out. I just got a pair of Cortecs, but they agitate the the meaty area on the bottom of my thumb. palm. I recently visited the Albany H-D/ Buell shop and I tried on a pair of leather Screaming Eagle racing gloves (full gaunlet with carbon fiber knuckles). What a sweet fitting glove!!!! I may be ditching the Cortecs soon.. |

Gloves, I know the problem. I'm currently wearing Z customs, but need some new short gloves for warm weather. When it's hot, I want protection but without gauntlets. I poked a finger through my old 1st Gear shorties recently. |

I used to want shorter gloves for warm weather until a rider in our group had his jacket sleeve roll up to his elbow while he slid across a gravel road. The gauntlets are just about the only thing that keep that from happening. I also am more paranoid about ankle protection and not having your jacket pull up at the waist in a crash. |
