They regularly go for about $200 on eBay. I put Buell wheels in my favorite searches and it popped up every couple of days with wheels for sale. I got a front with brake rotor for $210 and a rear for $180. It took me a month or so of bidding and I lost some that got too expensive. I'm turning my Ss yellow and I don't want to give up the sunset orange stockers. I'm getting the wheels powder coated yellow by Grandstand Designs. |

Akironic: I am waiting for my tax returns..then I would have to wait for my blue wheels to show up. I would basically ship you the black wheels in the same boxes that my blue wheels came in. Keep in mind that you would just be getting the wheels. No front rotor or any other hardware.....I kind of need that stuff lol. I am half tempted to just go down and order the wheels on my credit card to try and speed up the process. |

I'm an ebay addict. On there every day probably 30 times a day. Seriously, no BS. I search for buell parts all the time. I have a HVY S1 too that is absolutely immaculate. It even has the original tires! I'd rather not modify that one. You'll see a ton of amber wheels on there, but very seldom black and almost never the red. I saw a set of silver on there this past weekend. I was going to bid but figure, by time I bought those and then had them powdercoated, It wouldn't be that much more for a new set I wish I had gotten those Black ones that were ''Buy Now''. That was the first time I saw that in a long time. (Message edited by akironic on February 06, 2008) |

Erik, I think I am just going to go down tomorrow to the dealership and order the wheels. they are a vender direct part so they dont ship for 5 days and then its the normal 7-10 days wait. Basically I will get them in, try to have my friend mount my new tires and then get in touch with you about setting up shipping and money transaction. here is my email if you get ansy waiting and want to know my status. house.jeremy@gmail.com dont forget to let me know who you are or I am likely to delete the email. keep in mind I am from boise......so you might want to do some research on shipping from boise to jersy and see if the shipping cost is worth it to you. Also, I will try to keep you posted here if something happens to keep me from being able to sell you my wheels. Americanmade, Isnt it ridiculously hard to get the factory coating off the rim? The labor involved in sandblasting would be tremendous. At least that is the story I got from other people that have tried. Yes, I am aware that a good powder coater will make it look good. But for an extra $100, it seems almost worth it to get wheels that are factory black (or whatever color) to be certain there will be no blemishes. Does that make any sense(cents) to anyone? it seems as though there are more than a handful of Buell Brethren that are interested in the Black shoes. With everybody calling 'dibs, downs and shotgun' on black wheels that have POTENTIAL to show up here or there, the waiting list could be longer than expected. Is this a potential niche for a money making venture? nahhh |

Thanks for the offer Rich. I'll keep it in mind. Judging on where Middletown is located from me, the tires would certainly be broken in by the time I got back home. I just don't know how I'd carry a pair of tires on my Lightning for almost 100 miles for the trip up (I don't trailer... it's against my religion). |

I love black wheels. I can go longer between removing the brake dust without feeling guilty. Best thing about those satin black wheels that were on my M2 Cyclone. My current orange wheels are gorgeous, but MAN what a pain keeping them looking good!! |

I was in the same spot a couple of years ago when I wanted black wheels. I was going to have my amber ones powdercoated black. I broke it down and I would have to remove & replace the wheel bearings and have to pay someone to install them cause I don't have a press. I would also have to pay to have my tires unmounted then mounted/balanced. Between those things and having to pay to have the rims coated it was easier and CHEAPER to buy the Villain rims and sell my Amber rims on EBay. |

well its going to be at least 2 weeks before i even see the blue wheels. I will need some time to tear the tires off the wheels, package them up and put them on a scale to figure out shipping costs so you can decide if its worth it to you or not. I also got to get my new wheels and tires mounted, balanced and put back on my bike so its likely to be around 4 weeks out.........but it would be in good time for riding season to maybe start up. This years items for the new bike: new tires new wheels new exhaust ecm filter blue windscreen thank god for tax returns |

I'm thinking of doing my wheels soon.I'll buy new bearings for 80 bucks or so. I'll reuse the rotor and pulley hardware. Just make sure its lock tight and torqued to spec. Taking the tires off I'll do myself. Remount and bearings pressed 80 bucks. To coat my wheels I have a coater that I know his work and hes will do them both for 75 bucks. So I'll be into it for 235 bucks. Thats cheaper then one new wheel by close to 100 bucks. Before
After
