i don't like it when companies limit their design artists to origami. |

Great! I don't think it's an either/or discussion. Buells and KTMs are completely different. The only reason you wouldn't own both is because funds to buy bikes aren't unlimited. If you'd bought a KTM two years ago, I'd be you'd be saying, "if the 1125R were around 2 years ago, I'd be a Buell man." |

I like it!! I test rode the Super duke and it was very nice! Fast ,great brakes ,and awesome power. The handling was excellent! But I think I`ll wait for this....same as the RC8 but less fairing and a more upright sitting position.

I really like the bike even with it's sharp edges. I do prefer my bikes to have 'softer' edges and be more effeminate, ie, curves |

I expected more form the RC8, i'll get a 1125R before that. What im really excited about is one of KTM's other bikes. Husaburg. http://www.gizmag.com/husaberg-redesigns-the-four- stroke-single/8639/ "The company adopted an entirely logical approach to dirt bike design focused on radical weight reduction and a commitment to centralizing weight at the center-of-mass, much the same as pioneer Eric Buell has done with road bike design. While Buell accomplished remarkable handling improvements with road bikes, Husaberg was one of the key players in promoting the new breed of off-road four-strokes which are radically improved compared to the four-strokes of a quarter century ago – the broad but modest power delivery of the overweight four-strokes has now been matched by dramatically lighter weight, resulting in machines that are much easier to ride." If had a dirtbike/motard husaberg would be my pick. I really want to see the new motard with this powerplant. I until now I have had my eye set on a 650c (242.5lbs dry!!) I've read the origami analogy for weeks on BadWeB, but the truth is, it's a stunning looking design when you see it in 3D. The only thing origami about the RC8 is the flat piece of paper the pic's are printed on that most seem content to judge the RC8. At least I waited to voice an opinion of the 1125 until I'd actually seen one. Oh the hypocrisy Rocket |

I like origami. I think I'm going to make a mobile using pictures of that KTM and hang it in my garage. |

I'm tired of the "Origami" references. The tail is perfect. They even now know where the exhaust belongs. But the bars are a little high for my taste If i bought my motorcycles for "comfort" i'd be riding a Gold Wing or FLHTCU,but NOT a sportbike. All i need is a bike i can do 300 miles MAX in a day.I can do THAT on my 996. ya gotta admit that was funny though...it is a nice machine..to degrade it just makes u no better than what everybody has been doin to rocket....KTM jumped in the game not to long ago just like another company and have done a damn fine job of it.... |

I am a huge KTM fan. The Venom looks like a well integrated effort. At bit angular for my likes but seeing the similarity to origami is not disrespectful. Origami is an art form. But I would really like to see how it all translates when in full street trim. Many of the preproduction bikes look great in the tail section but need some serious pruning when they are actually released from the factory. I think in flat black that bike would really stir some excitement for me. |

I had a "Katoom" for a few years. It was a dirt bike that I grew to love. Heck of a motor and suspension right out of the box. If the Street bikes are anything like it, they will be easy to work on, spares a-plenty, and other than general maintenance very reliable. I applaude KTM's effort to look like no other. Like it or not, thats what sets us apart in a sea of tailbaggers and ultra pig choppers. |

rocket said-- At least I waited to voice an opinion of the 1125 until I'd actually seen one. Oh the hypocrisy. no hypocrisy here, just amusing myself til temps warm and the snow melts so i can ride. i haven't seen either bike in person but i can tell you i don't like the sharp lines on the KTM. i like the looks of the 1125r, have since the release. hopefully i'll get to spend some time checking out both bikes at the IMS in a few weeks. if i change my mind based on my new perspective, you'll be the first one i tell. in the mean time, if you like it, buy it and ride it. i don't care. if every one had the same tastes in bikes the industry would be pretty effin boring. |

Pretty much every Buell has had a VERY polarizing design. I am not a big fan of the 1125 (without having seen it in person), but that KTM looks sweeeeeet! I really like the execution of the origami. If the Superduke were cheaper I'd be sorely tempted - I love that KTM too! I agree with Badlions - I like the fact that not everyone likes the same thing. It's great to have so much variety. |

Odd that criticism of the 1125 is ok, but criticism is out of bounds. I like the looks of the KTM. I like the looks of the 1125R. I won't buy either. Both are distinctive. Endless posts degrading the KTM's looks should be allowed as well just as were the posts complaining about the 1125's looks. |

I like the Super Duke myself, but 14k i can't stomach Note the "Scoops" beside the radiator. Perhaps the facets reflect radar if the optional CF bits are purchased ?? is it available with cage seeking missles? RUNNING AWAY NOW! |

ktm just can not seem to get it together the dukes are cool but there is so much competition bye the time they get any of the newer street machines out to the public they are usually nothing more than trivial. 990 superduke 13K xb12ss 10.9K or1125R 12K then add speed triple at 11K and the jap bikes at around 9K They are good machines but they just came to late to the public and so will the RC8 |

Aesthetics are subjective and endless towards their final expression. Corporate design culture seems inherent to many brands. Each of the big 4 squids tofu dispensers have a distinctive angle to be witnessed. Buell is different, and better than them, like a good Kobe steak is better than Brazilian Angus. Some here are fishing with seine nets of blathering wordplay, agitating the hammerhead sharks amongst us. Chums trolling, all. Surf and turf. Bware the treble hooks current.... |
