http://www.motorcycleshows.com/motorcycleshows/sta tic/staticHtml.jsp?id=359162 I-X Center One I-X Center Drive Cleveland, OH 44135 Friday, January 25 4:00pm - 9:00pm Saturday, January 26 9:00am - 9:00pm Sunday, January 27 9:30am - 5:00pm Does anyone want to meet up? I'll be headed up Sunday the 27th from Columbus. Also, this was discussed a couple months ago... Last year FastTrax offered discounts on track days at Nelson Ledges if you sign up for one at the IMS. We were thinking about all signing up for the same day, making an unofficial Buell nelson ledges track day. I'm thinking about calling Fastracks to see if I could get a schedule ahead of time. My preference would be in June or September. Anyone else have thoughts on this matter? |

If you got room, I got gas money! Your car has to get better gas mileage than my truck! I sent Fasttrax a email about the next year and haven't heard back from them yet. When I do I will start a thread. |

I'm heading up the same day. I've got a Fvckus so the gas milage is decent. I'll reserve you a spot. Anyone else? |

I found this schedule on Nelson Ledges website: FASTTRAX Motorcycle Saturday, April 26, 2008 Sunday, April 27, 2008 Saturday, May 31, 2008 Sunday, June 01, 2008 Saturday, June 14, 2008 Sunday, June 15, 2008 Saturday, July 19, 2008 Sunday, July 20, 2008 Saturday, August 09, 2008 Sunday, August 10, 2008 Saturday, September 06, 2008 Sunday, September 07, 2008 Saturday, October 04, 2008 Sunday, October 05, 2008 But I can't figure out if that's track days we could sign up for, or if those are actual race days. I just sent Todd at Fastrax an email. But until I (or Mark) get a reply, lets pretend that that list is of available track days. What dates does anybody prefer? |

With the new job, my store is open Saturdays. I'm the boss and I could make the schedule, but I would like to keep my underlings happy so I'll most likely work Satursdays or alternate with another manager. Does Fasttrax require a 1 peice suit or will I 'get away' with a quality 2 peice? We sell Amsoil! |

I thought a 2pc suit with the 360 degree zipper was allowed everywhere a 1pc suit is allowed. |

If its like last year, the track days are the Friday before a race and the Monday after a race. Mike, I hadn't been to Fasttrax website for awhile. I will need to look at when I work and when I teach before I can pull the trigger. |

I suppose we have awhile before the show, and if it works out better, we can always pick a date closer to summer instead of at the show. |

Far as track gear goes,,,,,,,It depends on which class your in. If you were in the novice group textile was fine but no mesh. If you go with the more advance they required the leather and 360 zipper. opps, I am not sure what fasttrax requires. What I was referring to was the Buell track day.. Well, I'm novice. It'd be stupid to spend the money on novice level gear then move up and have to spend it all over. I'm not interested in racing, I'm really wanting to just do a track day to see how I've personally progressed as a rider. |

I'm really wanting to just do a track day to see how I've personally progressed as a rider. What I found: My progress from the beginning of the track day, to the end of the track day, was more than my progress over the past 3 years. I love track days. |

Thump-hit Iron Pony-granted it's been about two months since I've been there but they have a huge Teknic section with lots of leather for closeout prices. I got a pr. of leather track pants for 70 bucks, I had to change the zipper on my current jacket, but if you got a teknic jacket they'd probably zip right together and I think they were like 150 bucks for some nice ones. They got some good boots too for 100 or so. that stuff should get you through beginner and intermediate levels at least for PTT and most others-don't think it'll work at the salt flats though. |

The sad news is that iron pony close out section doesn't have much for us more mature sized gents. |

I'd be up for a couple of track days. I haven't been at Nelson in about 10 years, it wasn't very nice then. I remember the track was quite bumpy and if your unfortunate enough to hit the tire walls then you'll surely die (or at least get West Nile) from mosquitos attacking. Have any of you done a Sport Bike Track Time event? They run a great event (similar to Buell inside pass) at some nice tracks around the country.....including several events at Mid-Ohio. Here's a link to their webpage: http://www.sportbiketracktime.com/schedule2008.htm l. I'd be up for some track days with you guys.....just not at Nelson. |

I'm thinking about hitting Mid Ohio with SST more this year.. that track is just too much fun. And I have to go back to Road America this year, except this time on the 1125r. It's worth the trip up. I'll be working in the Buell Display at the Cleveland IMS as a Dealer Product Specialist representing Lake Erie Buell in Avon. I'll be there Friday, and the first half on Sat. and Sun. See you guys there! |
