Lots of fresh air for the motor and to help fuel rail cooling.

Does the CIA cover prevent the use of the OEM tankbag? Looks like it might obstruct the top intake.

Damn Treadmarks, that is a fine bike. I'm in awe. Have you come off it ever? Looks mint. I've read your mod posts, however you don't often post "completed" pics?..

That's not a dig about coming off - just that all those mods make it look like a real beast, however no damage yet (whereas I would have dropped something as good looking as that in the car park...).

What are y'all referring to when you use the term "fuel rail"?

I'm sensing that it is the fuel tank/frame.

I think that the "fuel rail" as referred to by Buell Motorcycle engineers is the plumbing leading from fuel tank/pump to the fuel injectors.

Hey Big,

Man, I dropped this baby 3 times in the first month. It rolled off the kickstand twice, and I lost it once trying to put it on a trailer in the dark and rain. I made a fix for the kickstand, so that won't happen again. I was lucky I had the bags on when it went down loading it on the trailer. No damage at all and now I know the BAS works

I am lucky I have not laid it down the way I drive it as a daily driver. I have had the sheit scared out of me while changing lanes and passing in 3rd gear because I did not know the front wheel was not on the road. Kinda hard to steer like that.

My bad. When I said fuel rail, I meant the fuel cell or fuel tank in the frame. Quite a few of past and upcoming mods will be intended to allow more air to pass by the fuel tank (frame) in an effort to keep the fuel as cool as possible.

Thanks for the kudos Brothers.

Don't know if a tank bag will work, as I use the butt bag.

It is from Matt at Trojan. It is not a direct bolt on and considerable work is necessary to make it fit correctly. The frame pucks and inner air box need to be fitted.

I am taking it to the paint shop this week to get a pro paint job on it. My rattle can bbq black just ain't gonna cut it. Any Ideas for a paint scheme?

I wish I could find a job where I could do the mods on Buells for a living. I ride to work every day and haul azz home just to farkle the bike.

Terry,
Where did you get the right side air scoop?
How much does it cost?
It looks like it is plastic like the left side. Does it help in keeping the the fan from running so much? Thanx Tom

Mr T, If you would make these things, we would buy them....starting with the lights.

Do you know if the latest mod actually effects the engine temp ?

I had it on for three days, driving it to work and back daily after fitted. My fan never came on. It has been cooler down here. I switched to pencil thin blinkers up front so more air can get to the vents in the air box cover. I dropped it off for the painter to give it factory gloss black look.

I do know that riding the bike around with the batwing airbox feels pretty baddass from a rider's perspective, and it does draw alot of attention.

Hi Dave,

Not yet, that was just the fitting shots. I am working on a stainless steel baffle to divert incoming water and a drain for the back of the air box base.

Treadmarks I think Electraglider_1997 brought this up before but how about the stuff NASA used to capture micro meteors. I believe it is being used as an insulation now.

Aerogel is the insul. http://www.aerogel.com/
I actually saw the shoe inserts for sale at Walmart recently. Like gel pads but aerogel to keep your feet toasty.
