How much are the hardcase mounting brackets by themselves? Thanks Ken |

Not sure you can get just the mounts from Buell. You may need to buy everything. You may have to dig deep to find just the mounts. |

For some reason it is difficult to get just the mounts unless you have had an accident. I had to have the owner of my local dealership call Buell just to get a top box and mount for me. The regular parts guy or parts manager could not order it. |

Yep, Buell has a lock on all things Hepco-Becker. I had the same experience regarding the top box. I called Twisted Throttle and they can't even get the keys to fit Buell bags. |

Not entirely true. You can order the side case mounts no problem. It's only the top mount that you cannot order unless you buy the entire kit. See this link for side case mounts and top case kit. Looks like the side brackets will run you $166ish. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=1021514#POST1021514 |

Joel, I stand corrected with respect to the side brackets. I followed the thread you linked to but didn't go to those Harley links or I would have known that. Really weird that you can get the side brackets and buy the side bags from other suppliers but not the top case bracket. |

I also think people have had better luck with the other HB carrier company for parts. I believe they are called Eurotech or something. M2NC (Carlos) and his wife (I think it is Ulywife, but I forgot her name)got parts from them. |

I read somewhere that it was not recommended to use just the top mount as it could cause some cracking of the mounting points because the side case mounts are structurally needed to strengthen the whole. |

If I remember correctly, when I installed my luggage, the top case and mount, doesn't tie in with the side racks at all. But I could be mistaken... |

No it doesn't but the side racks as I was told take some of the strain off of the area up there because they tie in else where and help support that area. I have no way of knowing if it is true from my own experience. I do remember the place I read that was on a sheet that came with the cases when I bought them and installed them. I doubt I still have it but I will check. |
