I finally got around to replacing my rear Dunlop. I built a Cradle according to tank_buellers instructions. Thanks for the post. I bought a motorcycle lift from Sears,( On Sale for $69.00). I followed the removal instructions in the Service Manual with the exception of removing the Belt Idler pulley. The wheel bearings turn smoothly by hand. I probably broke even accounting for the cost of the service manual and lift but, I'm good to go for future tire replacements and the joy of DIY. Kevin

Good job! Although, personally, I prefer the joy of LSEDI (letting someone else do it). John |

After the warranty service,I received from my local dealer. I vowed never to let them touch my bike again. |

Thanks for the encouragement. I've dropped a pretty explicit hint about that service manual to a potential gift giver. And there is a Sears less than a mile from my house. What kind of tire removing, mounting and balancing equipment did you use? |

DIY definitely is the way to go with motorcycles in general and Buells in particular. |

I brought the Wheel to a local independent dealer for Mount and Balance. Same dealer, I bought the tire from. Kevin |

After the warranty service,I received from my local dealer. I vowed never to let them touch my bike again. Ditto, after my dealer screwed up my stator problem that was the last straw for me... They've never failed at messing up my Buell when they were supposed to be fixing it. I use a small local shop for tires now too, prices are about the same as internet and they do an excellent mount/balance job. Helps to have a good relationship with a local shop too, they lent me their 43mm seal driver for my forks when the one I ordered didn't arrive in time. One of these days I need to build that cradle! |

The local shop special ordered the tire for me. I showed up about an hour before closing. I asked if I could drop it off and pick it up later. They told me to bring it on back. They did it while, I waited. I'd rather support the little guy, that appreciates my business and knows me by my first name. |
