F 800 GS $10,520

Yes there are options that can be added,

Available Equipment
Comfort Package $475
ABS $890
Clear Turn Signal Lenses $60
Anti Theft Alarm $235
Center Stand $150
Low Seat $0

but saying $15,000 will be what you pay is not quite accurate.

I'd love to get one for my wife.

Personally I'd rather have my Uly than a Hypermoto Duc, even with the problems I've had and probably will have. Can't even imagine two-up 300+ mile strings of days on the Ducati, never mind packing gear for the trip. And those mirrors are friggin' ridiculous IMHO. But that's just me, and I like Ducatis.

The two bikes are not even close to being competitive players in the same market. They each have strengths AND weaknesses, like any motorcycle.

That's why I have both.

And I like the mirrors.

I'd bet with all the options plus taxes, tags, title and license it's every bit of $14,000.

Florida,

Throw in the bags (usally with mounts about a grand) and also see that I was quoting "out the door" meaning taxes and yes you will be at $15K.

Forida,

No worries. Like I said it is a marvelous looking bike and BMW has a way of putting together just the right concept but it doesn't come cheap. I expect that over the next 18 -24 months this bike will fly out of the showrooms and you will pay MSRP plus to get one from many dealers.

Can you imagine if we had this powerplant in our Uly's or Buell had it to make a fleet of bikes?

For those who have not tried the F800's yet, find a BMW dealership and get a ride on the F800ST. Fine machine, good power, light, flickable, great fuel mileage. The GS version should be an outstanding bike much better suited to off-road than the 12GS.
